6:30AM - Maureen is awake. Lying peacefully in bed.
Maureen remained awake off and on for the next 90 minutes.
Our day officially began @ 8:07AM. Maureen is in fine spirits. Her diaper was wet. Maya cleaned her thoroughly using the warmed wipes from the purple packet. She applied the 3M Cavilon Barrier Cream, Barrier Film and Muciprocin Ointment to the appropriate areas.
Breakfast service began @ 8:40AM. Before beginning, Maya administered the thyroid pill. Maureen was listing a bit to the left. We adjusted her posture using both green wedge pillows and Magic Mike.
9:00AM - Maya administered the blood pressure medication and the baby aspirin.
Maureen coughed 7-8 times during the breakfast service. This is almost double the normal daily average. Several of them were heard coughs with phlegm.
She coughed quite heavily, 2-3 times, while Maya was brushing her teeth.
10:45AM - Maya determined Maureen's pull up was wet. We headed to the bedroom for a clean and change. Maya used the 3m No-Rinse Skin Cleanse to throughly clean Maureen. We put on a new pull up and headed to the lift recliner in the front room. It is not time for The Price is Right!
12:45PM - Maya checked the pull up right as lunch was ready. It was very wet. We headed to the bedroom for a clean and chance. As we were removing the pull up, we noted a very small soft bowel movement. Maya cleaned Maureen thoroughly with a combination of 3M Cavilon No-Rinse Cleanser, Medline FitRight Aloe wipes and Aloe Vesta Cleansing Foam. We put a new pull up and fresh pair of shorts on Maureen and headed to the kitchen for lunch.
1:15PM - Lunch | Maya prepared 1/2 a corned beef sandwich with Swiss cheese on toasted whole wheat, 1/2 a tomato and a small serving of spinach. Maureen also consumes 1 12 oz. bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water. Mmmm Mmmm good. And good for you.
Maureen coughed heavily four times during the lunch service.
2:15PM - Julie, Maureen's nurse from Journey Care, arrived at the house for her first visit. She will come to the house again this week.
3:00PM - Maya and I took Maureen to the bathroom so that the JC nurse Julie could examine the "bug bite" area. As we started to pull Maureen's shorts and pull up down, we noted a bowel movement. It was soft and medium in size. Maureen also subsequently urinated on the pad. Maya thoroughly cleaned Maureen. Julie than examined the "bug bite" area. She concluded that the lumps in this area were most likely pressure ulcers. We will start using 3M Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film on this area every day.
Fruit snack.
