6:25AM - Maureen is sleeping soundly.
8:05AM - She remains asleep.
Our day officially began @ 8:20AM. Maureen is in good form. She is a bit groggy. Her diaper was wet. Djon cleaned Maureen with just the 3M Cavilon Cleanse Spray and a wash cloth. He did not use the warmed wipes from the purple packet. Next, he applied the 3M Cavilon Barrier Cream to all areas of skin exposed to urine/feces. This was followed by the application of the 3M Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film to the pressure sore area. He then applied Muciprocin Ointment to the two "bug bites" Lastly, we applied a small dab of the Nystatin Ointment to the small red area beneath Maureen's left breast
Breakfast service began @ 8:50AM. Before starting the feeding process, Djon administered the thyroid pill. Maureen was listing a bit to the left in the geri chair. We inserted green wedge pillows horizontally on both sides her to act as extended armrests.
It has now been three days since Maureen had a bowel movement. We are going to administer a full packet of MiraLAX into her prune juice.
Maureen is coughing quite a bit this morning. Many of them involve phlegm. She is very congested this morning. Her breathing through the mouth is a bit raspy.
9:47AM - Djon administered the blood pressure pill and the baby aspirin.
Maureen coughed a total of 7-8 times this morning. This is well in excess of the norm. Most of the coughs involved a heavy amount of phlegm. She has nodded off a few times this morning. While sleeping, she at times is making a gurgling sound in her throat.
Maureen's complexion is a bit pale. She felt a little clammy to the touch on her forehead. We took her temperature. The consensus was 98.3.
11:00AM - Djon checked the pull up. It was wet. We decided to take Maureen to the bathroom to give her a chance to move her bowels. She began to have bowel movements from the moment we sat her down. The session on the commode last 25 minutes. She had the equivalent of one large formed bowel movement. Djon cleaned her thoroughly. We placed her in the lift recliner in the front room.
11:45AM - Organic fruit smoothie.
12:20PM - While sitting in the lift recliner, Maureen still looked pale. She has been constantly uttering the low moan/groan. I felt her hands and head. They were cold/clammy. Djon took her temperature three time. The consensus read was 96.9. We placed a light blanket on Maureen.
12:50PM - Djon checked Maureen's temperature again. It is now 98.
1:20PM - Diaper was wet. We headed to bedroom for a clean and change. After we removed the pull up, we noted one of the bug bites "opened up" a bit. See attached image. Djon applied a small dab of Muciprocin Ointment on the would. He then cleaned Maureen thoroughly with the 3M Cavilon Cleanse Spray. We put a clean pull up on Maureen and headed to the kitchen for lunch.
1:40PM - Lunch - Djon prepared 1/2 a ham sandwich on toasted whole wheat, 1/2 a bowl of homemade lentil soup and a serving of brussels sprouts. She also consumed 1 12 ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water.
General Observations> Maureen has coughed quite a bit today. On most occasions, it was immediately after she chewed or swallowed something. She also has had her eyes closed or barely open for the period of 10:00AM to 1:30PM. Overall, she has had a low energy day.
3:40PM - Djon checked the pull up. It was wet. We headed to the bedroom for a clean and change. The bug bite that had opened up started to heal up/close nicely. Out of an abundance of precaution, Djon applied a little more Muciprocin Ointment to the wound.
