Thi is Tom’s Update:
6:30am - Maureen coughed to where she couldn’t catch her breath again, I suctioned out some phlegm.
I got her sitting up in bed, seemed to help, she was able to accept a few swabs of water.
She was still making that irritating sounds, as if she’s not comfortable … calming slowly.
I laid her down on her left side again.
6:45 - Sounds of discomfort started up again, I decided to try and give her a crushed Tylenol in some pear puree’. It took some time but she got it swallowed down and a few more swabs of water followed.
Thankfully, she is resting comfortably, while sitting up in bed.
7:00 vitals are …
Temperature is 98.2°
Pulse is 79 BPM
Oxygen level is 95%
7:30 - Another round of the inconsolable sounds, little coughing with one suction.
She fell back asleep with me holding her.
9:30AM - Maureen's is already on her upright position already awake. We gave her sips of water via swabs, showing some having difficulty of breathing. didn’t attempt to administer the Morning pill. She’s not swallowing.

9:50AM- Check Vitals
96.8- temp.

92% - O2
10:20AM- she close her eyes again we decide to lay her back down position her face to the right side.

11:00AM- Maureen is awake Coughed3x and suction3x. We gave her sips of water via swab.
No signs of pain or any distress, We place Maureen in an upright position. Giving her another sips of water via swab. She swallow slowly,
administered 75mcg of Levothyroxine with purée pear.
11:15AM- We start our Morning care to Maureen, Wash her upper extremities with warm purple wipes. We washed and dry Maureen’s left breast using ( skintegrity and gauze sponges) Diaper was dry with Large VD brownish but odorless. We Cleaned and changed her. Applied Sureprep barrier film on sacrum and Prevent silicone cream on posterior and inner thighs. We dressed her and moved to the front room.
11:40AM- Check BP 100/90
11:45AM- giving her neb treatment with Albuterol.
11:55AM- Breakfast- Scrambled egg with tomatoes and cheese, and banana. Maureen didn’t finished her food coz she close her eyes and sleep.
11:55AM- Carolyn and Colleen came to visit.
1:00PM- Maureen still sleeping.
1:20PM- Maureen open her eyes wide showing some distress.
She had a 20 minutes episode. We check her Pulse 117 and Oxygen 88 it gets lower so Tom decided to give her oxygen 2.5 lit. Then vitals went stable already her oxygen 98 and pulse 76.
2:10PM- We gave her sips of water via swab, she swallowed, then we administered Cetirizine 10mg with purée pear.
2:15PM- We resumed feeding her to help her finish her scrambled egg and banana. Maureen ate all. Few Sips of water via swab.
2:30PM- administered Tylenol 500mg tab with purée pear.
2:45PM- We transferred her to the bedroom for her rest break. Diaper was dry. We inserted suppository. We position her to face the left side.
Maureen is still on her oxygen.
3:40PM- Rest break ended already. Diaper was dry but has Large soft BM. We cleaned and change and dressed Maureen and move to the front room.
3:55PM- giving her 2nd Neb treatment with Albuterol.
4:00PM-Administer 5mg of Olanzapine 12.5ml Vimpat and 20ml cough syrup (Geri-Tussin) all with thickener. Couple sips of sparkling water via swabs.
4:25PM- Dinner - Orange chicken. Maureen ate well.
We gave her couple of sips of sparkling water via swabs. Coughed3x lots of phlegm suction3x
5:20 PM- oral care
5:40PM-We transferred Maureen to the bedroom. Diaper was dry , has a small VD brownish odorless. We cleaned and changed, applied Prevent silicon cream on posterior and inner thighs. We washed Maureen’s left breast ( skintegrity and gauze sponges) Position to face the left side.
6:15PM- Maureen's sleeping.
T - 97.9
P - 91
O2 - 92%
Note: Maureen didn’t drink liquids that much today,
We didn’t applied lotion to her face due to maybe tonight she might need oxygen. As per Tom.
And Tom will Monitor again her vitals later.
7:30PM vitals are ..
Temperature is 98.2°
Pulse is 86 BPM
Oxygen level is 95%
Maureen is sleeping comfortably, no signs of distress at all.
9:00 vitals match the 7:30 numbers, has not coughed once … I hope I didn’t just jinx it!
