Saturday February 5, 2022 Dayshift Update

• 8:00am Maureen is awake and chatty. Our day begins with a complete bed bath. We saw no redness anywhere on Maureen’s skin. Applied Tolcylen to both big toes. Diaper is wet - we freshened up using the 3M cleanser spray, applied no sting barrier film followed by the Cavilon barrier cream and put on a new diaper.

• 8:34am Marie is helping Maureen through a set of arm and leg exercises in bed.

• 8:50am Transferred Maureen to the Geri chair using the Hoyer lift and we headed to the kitchen.

• 8:54am Spoonful of honey and thyroid pill with applesauce.

• 8:56am Breakfast - banana, oatmeal, 4 oz prune juice and a cup of water.

  • Maureen coughed twice.

• 9:13am Administered 5mg Lisinopril with applesauce and 20mL Guaifenesin.

• 9:25am Facial routine.

• 9:31am Using q tips, I cleared out Maureen’s nostrils.

• 9:33am Low moan/groan has started.

• 9:40am Dan and Tina are here for a visit. Maureen had half of a red velvet donut.

• 11:00am We headed to the bedroom for a change. Maureen’s diaper is wet - we cleaned up and put on a new diaper. Maureen is lying on her right side with two green wedge pillows placed behind her and a pillow in between her legs. Maureen will rest in bed for one hour starting at 11:15am.

• 12:15pm Rest period #1 is over. Maureen’s diaper is wet and she had a small, formed bowel movement. We cleaned up and put on a new diaper.

• 12:25pm We washed, shampooed, and conditioned Maureen’s hair.

• 12:38pm Transferred Maureen to the Geri chair using the Hoyer lift. We headed to the kitchen where Marie blow dried and styled Maureen’s hair.

• 1:00pm Lunch - half tuna sandwich, sliced tomato, lentil soup, and a bottle of organic coconut water.

  • Maureen coughed once.

• 1:17pm Administered 20mL Guaifenesin.

• 1:20pm Oral care.

• 1:30pm We headed to the front room. Maureen is sitting comfortably in the recliner watching tv.

• 2:30pm We headed to the bedroom for a change. Maureen’s diaper is wet - we cleaned up and put on a new diaper. She is now lying on her left side with two green wedge pillows placed behind her an a pillow between her legs. Maureen will rest for one hour in bed starting at 2:38pm.

• 3:40pm Rest period #2 is over. Maureen’s diaper is wet - we cleaned up and put on a new diaper. Transferred Maureen to the day chair using the Hoyer lift and we headed to the front room.

• 3:55pm Fruit snack.
