October 7 daytime update

  • 6:35AM - Maureen is sleeping for the most part. She has a nice chat with herself occasionally. Diaper is wet. Since she is at peace, we are electing not to change her at this time.

  • Our day began @ 8:05AM. Maya gave Maureen a partial bed bath with the warmed wipes from the purple packet. Maureen's diaper was wet. Maya thoroughly cleaned her using the 3M Cavilon No-Rinse Cleansing Spray. She then proceeded to apply 3M Cavilon Barrier Cream to all areas exposure to urine and/or feces. Last but not least, Maya applied a new layer of 3M Cavilon No-Sting Barrier Film to the entire pressure ulcer area.

  • Pressure Ulcer Area Update> After looking at the three images we took this morning, we believe the pressure ulcer area improved a little bit this morning. Overall, it continues to look quite good and trend positively. At this time, for whatever reason, I cannot post any images to the blog.

  • Breakfast service commenced at 8:35AM. Before getting started, Maya administered the thyroid medication. Maureen's posture in the geri chair is good. She has a green wedge pillow on each side of her. Maureen coughed only a few times during breakfast.

  • Daily MIRAlax dosage> 1/2 packet with a 1/2 glass of prune juice.

  • 8:55AM - Maya administered the blood pressure medication and the baby aspirin.

  • 9:02AM - Oral care routine commences.

  • 9:15AM - Maya cleaned Maureen's eyelashes with Johnson's baby Shampoo and warm water. She also put drops in Maureen's eyes.

  • 10:21AM - Organic fruit smoothie time.

  • 10:32AM - Maya noted Maureen's pull up was wet. We headed to the bedroom for a clean and change. As the process began, Maureen has a large soft bowel movement in bed. Maya throughly cleaned her using the Medline green medicated wipes and the Aloe Vesta Cleansing Foam. She then followed up by applying a little more 3M Cavilon Barrier Cream to all the areas that were exposed to urine and feces. We placed a new pull up on Maureen.

  • 10:55AM - We placed Maureen on her right side for the first of two one hour sessions in bed to relieve the pressure on her sacrum (lower back).

  • 11:51AM - We began the process of getting Maureen up for lunch. Her pull up was wet. Maya thoroughly cleaned her using the 3M Cavilon No-Rinse Cleanse Spray. We put a fresh pull up on her and headed to kitchen.

  • 12:15PM - Lunch | Maureen had 1/2 a ham sandwich on toasted whole wheat with mayonnaise and melted Swiss cheese, 1/4 a sliced tomato and 1/2 a bowl of homemade green pea and chicken soup. She also consumed 1 12 ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water.

  • 1:45PM - Maureen was in need of a clean and change. We will also use this trip to the bedroom to give her the second of two one hour rests to relieve pressure on her sacrum.

  • 2:00PM - We placed Maureen on her left side for one hour.

  • 2:55PM - It was time to resume our day. Maureen's pull up was wet. Maya thoroughly cleaned her. We set course for the front room and placed Maureen in the lift recliner. It is TPIR time.

  • 3:20PM - Fruit snack.
