October 6 daytime update
6:35AM - Maureen is sleeping lightly. She stirs a bit from time to time. Maya checked the diaper. It is slightly wet. We elected to forgo a clean/change at this time.
7:15AM - Maureen continues to sleep/stir lightly.
Our day officially began @ 8:12AM. Maureen is in fine form. Her diaper was wet. Maya cleaned her thoroughly with 3M Cavilon No Rinse Cleansing Spray. She then proceeds to apply 3M Cavilon Barrier Cream to all appropriate areas. Lastly, Maya applied a layer of 3M Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film to the entire pressure ulcer area.
Pressure Ulcer Area Update> It is our opinion that the pressure ulcer area looks much better—much more pink than red. Please see the attached close-up image.
Breakfast service started @ 8:40AM. Before beginning, Maya administered the thyroid medication. Maureen coughed a few times during the breakfast—nothing out of the ordinary.
MIRAlax Daily Dosage: 1/2 packet
9:05AM - Maya administered the blood pressure pill and baby aspirin.
9:10AM - Complete oral care routine
9:30AM - Maya cleaned all of Maureen's eyelashes. There was some minor gunk/sleep in a few of them. She also put drops in both eyes.
10:25AM - Organic fruit smoothie made right here on Osceola!
10:50AM - Maureen's diaper was wet. We took her to the bedroom for a clean and change. As we began the process, we noted she had a small soft bowel movement. Maya cleaned Maureen thoroughly. She also applied a small amount of 3M Cavilon Barrier Cream to all of the areas that were exposed to the feces.
11:05AM - We left Maureen in bed and turned her on her right side for the first of two one hour periods to relieve pressure on her sacrum (lower back area).
12:05PM - We initiated the process of getting Maureen ready for lunch and her shampoo and style treatment with Kathy and Maya. Just as we were about to lift her up, she urinated. Maya thoroughly cleaned her. We then headed to the kitchen for lunch.
12:30PM - Lunch | Maya prepared 1/2 a turkey sandwich with melted Swiss cheese on toasted whole wheat, 1/4 sliced peach and homemade green pea soup. Maureen also enjoyed 12 ounces of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water. What a way to wet your whistle.
1:00PM - The world famous duo KAMA once again taught a master class in hair shampoo and styling. They worked their magic on Maureen's auburn locks here at the big house on Osceola. Asked for a comment on their latest styling effort, both KA and MA simply stated, "No comment is necessary. Our work speaks for itself." The dynamic duo did not stick around for any press interaction. They wee on their way downtown to do something with Cook County State's Attorney Kim Fox's hair.
2:05PM - Maureen's diaper was wet. We headed to the bedroom fro a clean and change. Maya cleaned Maureen with the 3M Cavilon No Rinse Cleanse Spray. She also applied small amounts of the 3M Cavilon Barrier Cream to areas exposed to the urine.
2:15PM - We placed Maureen on her left side for the second of two one hour segments of time to relieve the pressure on her sacrum.
3:15PM - After spending a second hour on her side, we started to get Maureen up for the rest of the afternoon. Her pull up was wet. Maya thoroughly cleaned and changed her. We then headed to the front room and placed her in the lift recliner for the remainder of the afternoon.
3:45PM - Fruit snack and the latest edition of TPIR. Who could ask for anything more?
