8:00am Maureen is sleepy, lying on her left side. As per Tom, she woke up calmly around 7:15am, had sips of water via swab, and has been in and out of sleep since.
8:30am Maureen’s awake, we raised the bed to administer 75mcg Levothyroxine with apple sauce.
While still bed, Maureen coughed three times, suction pump used.
8:40am Tom and I started the day by giving Maureen an upper body bath using warmed purple wipes, no redness observed. Diaper is dry, dressed and headed to the kitchen.
9:00am Breakfast: Mandarin, a cup of lemon water, coffee, 8oz prune juice with 1/2 cap miralax, and oatmeal/fruit smoothie with a spoonful of yogurt. Coughed four times, suction pump used used twice.
Daily Miralax dosage: 1/2 cap
Reclined Geri chair one notch for comfort.
10:00am We decided to treat Maureen with albuterol and saline therapy, she’s been coughing more than usual and sounds phlegmy.
10:30am Maureen is having her smoothie, we interrupted breakfast to give her a Neb treatment because of her coughing.
10:35am Administered 10mg Loratadine with smoothie.
10:50am Oral care.
11:00am Eyes wash/drops and facial routine.
11:30am Transferred to the bedroom for Maureen’s first resting break. Clean/change a heavy wet diaper, applied Cavilon barrier film to sacrum, barrier cream to inner thighs area, then positioned on her right side.
12:30pm First break ends. Diaper is dry, dressed and headed to the kitchen.
12:45pm Lunch: Chicken/veggies soup with crackers and guacamole, and a full cup of coconut water. Coughed once.
Reclined Geri chair one notch for comfort.
1:20pm Oral care.
2:00pm Maureen’s sitting with relaxed hands and awake while listening to her playlist.
2:10pm Blood pressure: 100/58, P: 73.
2:30pm Transferred to the bedroom for Maureen’s second resting break. Clean/change a medium wet diaper and positioned on her left side.
3:30pm Second break ends. Clean/change a medium wet diaper, dressed and headed to the living room.
3:45pm Maureen’s enjoying her fruit snack (melon/pear/kiwi).
