May 24 daytime update

  • 6:35AM - Maureen has been awake since approximately 5:00AM. She is currently chatting lightly in bed. Maya checked the diaper. It is dry.

  • 7:50AM - Maureen remains awake in bed. We will officially start the day in a few minutes.

  • Day officially began at 8:00AM. Maureen is in good spirits. Her diaper remained dry. Maya throughout cleaned her with a warm wipes contained in the purple packets. She put a fresh pull up on Maureen as well as a clean pair of pants.

  • There was no red spot visible.

  • Breakfast service began at 8:15AM. Maureen is sitting up nicely in the day chair without assistance.

  • Maureen will drink 1/2 of prune juice this morning.

  • Nasal congestion is not present. We will forgo the Flonase.

  • 8:38AM - Morning medications administered—blood pressure and baby aspirin

  • Maureen's energy and engagement is above average so far this morning. She is being very chatty with Maya and me.

  • 9:10AM - Maureen is starting to lose energy. Her brow is now furrowed. She is starting to list to the left. Drooling has began out of the right side of her mouth. This just literally came out of the blue.

  • 9:50AM - Due to signs of tiredness, we decided to move Maureen to the lift recliner. She fell asleep almost immediately. Before we moved Maureen, Maya checked Maureen's pull up. It was dry.

  • Maureen only slept for 10 minutes. She woke up with more energy. Maya gave her the morning smoothie at approximately 10:15.

  • 11:05AM - Maya checked Maureen’s pull up. It was wet. We took her to the bathroom. She did not urinate or move her bowels in the toilet. Maya thoroughly cleaned Maureen and put on a new pull up. Once we got Maureen off of the commode, Maya checked for red marks. There were none.

  • 11:20AM - We returned Maureen to the lift recliner.

  • 12:10PM - Lunch is served. Maya checked Maureen's pull up prior to heading to the kitchen. It was dry.

  • 12:15PM - Maureen began to slump forward significantly as lunch began. She enthusiastically consumed a bottle of coconut water. None of it was held in her month.

  • 2:00PM - Tom and Maya took Maureen to the bathroom. Her pull up was wet. She urinated in the toilet and also moved her bowels. It was a large firm bowel movement.

  • 3:05PM - Fruit snack

  • 3:55PM - We noted that Maureen was fidgeting in the recliner quite a bit. Maya checked her pull up. It was very wet. We took her to the bathroom. Maureen did not urinate or move her bowels. Maya cleaned Maureen thoroughly with medicated wipes, put on a fresh pull and a clean pair of pants.
