  • 6:30AM - Maureen is asleep.

  • 6:55AM - Maya just checked Maureen. She remains asleep.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:10AM. She is engaged and alert. Maya got the ball rolling with the application of Tolcylen to both big toenails. The diaper wet. We performed a clean & change using all three 3M Cavilon products. Lastly, Maya and I cleaned all areas of focus on Maureen's upper body with Aloe Vesta Cleansing Foam and warm wipes from the purple packet. There were no areas of redness/irritation that would requirer the application of Nystatin Ointment.

  • Breakfast service began @ 8:46AM. Posture in the geri chair is very good. Maureen is tilting a bit to the left. Maya started out by giving Maureen a teaspoon of Manuka Honey followed immediately by the administration of the thyroid medication with a wee bit of applesauce.

  • Maureen will consume approximately four ounces of prune juice this morning.

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage: None

  • 9:21AM - Maya administered the Claritin and the blood pressure medication.

  • General observations @ 9:21AM> Maureen just completed breakfast. Things are going well this morning. She chewed and swallowed well—very little coughing. Maureen has not held any water in her mouth this morning—a rarity. As of the writing of this e-mail, her energy has ebbed a bit. Engagement and communication are very good.

  • 9:33AM - Morning oral care routine

  • 9:43AM - Eyelash cleaning and eye drops.

  • 9:47AM - We tilted the geri chair back one notch to make it more comfortable for Maureen and to relieve stress of her lower back.

  • 9:50AM - Morning facial treatment including hands and arms

  • 10:17AM - Hand, arm, shoulder and leg exercises.

  • 10:42AM - Organic fruit smoothie

  • 11:00AM - We headed to the bedroom to prepare for Rest Break #1. Diaper was light wet. Maya and I completed a clean & change and then placed Maureen on her right side.

  • 11:15AM - Rest Break #1 begins.

  • 12:15PM - Rest Break #1 ends.

  • 12:29PM - Lunch | Maya prepared 1/2 a turkey with melted cheese on toasted whole wheat sandwich, 1/2 a bowl of homemade onion and chicken soup and a serving of Brussels sprouts. Maureen will consume one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water. For dessert, Maureen had a small serving of rice pudding.

  • General observations @ 1:18PM> Lunch did not go smoothly. From the jump, Maureen was listless/lethargic. Her eyes were partially closed. She did not chew and swallow well—coughed five times, three of them were red face. It continues to be a mystery to us why Maureen has significantly more energy while lying down than when she is sitting up at the table.

  • 1:18PM - Afternoon oral care

  • General observation @ 1:30PM> Maureen experienced a boost of energy as she finished her dessert. It is kind of amazing to observe. Her eyes are now wide open. She is engaged and communicative. The Good Lord does work in mysterious ways.

  • 1:53PM - We headed to the bedroom for Rest Break #2. Diaper was medium wet. Maya and I performed a clean & change. We then proceeded to set Maureen up on her right side.

  • 2:06PM - Rest Break #2 begins.

  • 3:05PM - Rest Break #2 concludes. Diaper is medium wet. Maureen had a small formed bowel movement. Maya and I performed a clean & change. We the proceeded to front room for the remainder of the day.

  • 3:22PM - Fruit snack
