6:45AM - Maureen is sleeping soundly.
8:10AM - Maureen is now awake. She is not completely alert/engaged. We are going to keep her in bed for at least another 30 minutes so that she is best prepared to start the day.
8:49AM - We just gave Maureen 4 sips of water. Used the adjustable bed to make that possible. It was a big help in getting her positioned properly to drink the water. Maureen continues to murmur. It is impossible to understand anything she is saying. Responsiveness/engagement is low—certainly not enough yet to get her out of bed and get the day started.
Our day officially began @ 9:05AM. Maureen is somewhat groggy/unresponsive. Her diaper was wet. While cleaning Maureen with warm wipes from the purple packet, Maya did not see any red marks.
Breakfast service began at 9:20AM. Maureen is slumping forward and to the left significantly. We had to use both wedge pillows to keep her posture upright.
As is customary, Maureen will consume 1/2 glass of prune juice this morning.
9:36AM - Morning medications administered—blood pressure and baby aspirin.
Even though Maureen ate her entire breakfast in a slumped over position, she did not cough once.
Nasal congestion is not significant. In fact, Maureen's nose is running a bit. We decided not to give her a dose of Flonase.
10:10AM - Due to the significant slumping and the obvious discomfort it causes Maureen, we decided to transfer her to the lift recliner. Before we made this transfer, Maya checked Maureen's pull up. It remains dry.
It has now been approximately 80 minutes since Maureen got out of bed. She continues to struggle to pronounce anything understandable.
10:55AM - Organic fruit smoothie time.
12:35PM - Lunchtime was fast approaching. Maya checked Maureen's pull up. It was wet. We took Maureen to the bathroom. While on the toilet, she had a large firm bowel movement and also urinated a decent amount into the toilet. Maya did not see any red marks while cleaning Maureen.
12:50PM - Lunch. Maya prepared some homemade chicken noodle with vegetables, 1/2 a tuna salad sandwich with some brussel sprouts. Maureen also drank one 12 ounce bottle of coconut water. Maureen's posture during lunchtime was significantly better. She was sitting more upright with the assistance of one green wedge pillow.
1:50PM - Maureen began to slump forward consistently. We decided to take her to the lift recliner for her comfort.
3:10PM - Tom and Maya took Maureen to the bathroom. Her pull up was wet. Maureen did not urinate or move her bowels in the toilet. Maya cleaned Maureen and put on a new pull up. She did not note any red marks. The pull up contained all of the urine. There was no seepage.
