July 21 daytime update

• 6:40AM - Maureen is sound asleep. As a result, Maya does not want to try to check the diaper for fear of waking her up. Maya also noted that Maureen has coughed a few times already this morning.

• Our day officially began @ 8:10AM. Maureen is in good form. Her diaper was wet. Maya thoroughly cleaned her using warmed wipes from the purple packet. She put a fresh pull up and new pair of shorts on Maureen. There were no red marks on Maureen’s posterior.

• Breakfast service began @ 8:30AM. We administered the thyroid pill just before Maureen began eating. She began to tilt to the left as soon as we placed her in the geri chair. Maya inserted a green wedge pillow into the chair to straighten her posture.

• Maureen will consume 1/2 glass of undiluted prune juice this morning.

• 9:12AM - Blood pressure and baby aspirin administered

• Maureen did not cough once during breakfast service.

• 9:50AM - We decided to take Maureen for a long stroll through the neighborhood.

• 10:40AM - Lions and tigers and bears! Oh my! It is organic fruit smoothie time.

• 11:00AM - Maureen's nurse Val came to the house. She checked Maureen's vitals. They were as follows: BP: 132/68, Heart rate: 84 and Oxygen level: 96%. Val asked if we were able to schedule the speech therapist Christine Padilla. I told her we had not. Val was going to look into what is causing the delay. She is also going to try to get an occupational therapist to the house. Val will make one more visit to the house. It will be on July 21. Time is TBD.

• 11:45AM - Maya checked pull up. It was wet. We took Maureen to the bathroom. She did nothing on the toilet after sitting there for 15 minutes. Maya thoroughly cleaned Maureen and put a new pull up on her. There were no red marks on Maureen’s posterior.

• 12:15PM - Lunch - Carolyn brought over some lunch. Maureen had gnochi and a part of chicken panini sandwich.

• 1:45PM - Maya checked pull up. It was wet. Off to the bathroom we went. Maureen sat on the commode for 15 minutes. She urinated a good amount in the toilet right at the 15 minute mark but no bowel movement. Maya thoroughly cleaned Maureen and put a new pull up on her. There were no red marks on Maureen’s posterior.

• 2:15PM - Sr. Roberta arrived to give Maureen a massage.
