  • 6:40AM - Maureen is sleeping soundly. Her diaper is dry.

  • Our day officially began @ 8:00AM. Maureen is in a very good frame of mind this morning. She is engaged and alert—chatty at times. Her diaper was wet. Djon cleaned her thoroughly with warmed wipes from the purple packet. There are no red marks on her posterior.

  • We noted some redness and dead skin underneath the left side of Maureen's nose and the inner portion of her left eyebrow. Djon applied a small amount of Neosporin to both of these areas.

  • Breakfast service began @ 8:25AM. Maureen's posture in the geri chair is excellent. We did insert a green wedge pillow as an armrest. She will have a banana and a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. We will skip the prune juice this morning. Djon gave Maureen the thyroid pill just prior to breakfast.

  • 8:58AM - Djon administered the blood pressure pill and baby aspirin.

  • Coughing was normal during breakfast—3 to 4 times at most. Maureen's nose is a bit runny this morning. As of 9:04AM, she has sneezed twice. Maureen did not nod off at all during the meal service.

  • As of 9:06AM, Maureen energy and engagement levels remain good. Posture remains straight for the most part. She continues to be chatty and responsive.

  • 9:20AM - In the last 20 minutes or so, Maureen has sporadically uttered the low groan/moan.

  • 9:33AM - Maureen's energy is beginning to dissipate. Her brow is slightly furrowed. She continues to utter the low moan/groan sporadically.

  • 10:01AM - Some of Maureen's energy has returned. Her brow is no longer furrowed.

  • 10:10AM - Maureen just nodded off for three minutes.

  • GENERAL OBSERVATION> When Maureen utters the low moan/groan, it is quite often accompanied with a slight gurgling sound. We believe the gurgling sound is emanating from her throat.

  • 10:24AM - VITALS Temperature: 98.6, Oxygen: 80 and Pulse: 98

  • 10:30AM - Organic fruit smoothie - totally!

  • 11:07AM - Djon checked the pull up. It was wet. Since it had been almost 4 days since Maureen had a medium or large bowel movement, we decided to take her to the toilet. Her posture on the commode was near perfect. At approximately the 12 minute mark, Maureen urinated a good amount and had a small formed bowel movement. Djon thoroughly cleaned her and put on a fresh pull up. There were no red marks on her posterior.

  • 11:30AM - We placed Maureen in the lift recliner.

  • 12:40PM - Lunch - 1/2 a tuna salad sandwich on toasted whole wheat, 1/2 a sliced tomato and 1/2 a bowl of Maya's homemade chicken noodle soup.

  • 1:10PM - As of this point in the day, Maureen has consume approximately 24 ounces of water. This does not include the organic fruit smoothie.

  • 1:40PM - Djon determined Maureen's pull up was wet. We decided to go to the bedroom to clean and change her. Djon throughly cleaned Maureen and put on a fresh pull up. There were no red marks on Maureen's posterior.

  • 3:40PM - Djon checked the pull up. It was wet. We headed to the bathroom once again to give Maureen a chance to move her bowels. At about the eight minute mark, Maureen urinated a good amount into the toilet. There was no further activity. We returned Maureen to the lift recliner for some R&R prior to dinner.
