August 30 daytime update

• 6:30AM - Maureen is sleeping.

• 7:35AM - Maureen is now awake. She is stirring lightly in bed. Her diaper is slightly wet.

• Our day officially began @ 8:05AM. Maureen is reasonably alert and engaged. Her diaper was wet. Djon cleaned Maureen thoroughly with warmed wipes from the purple packet. We put on a new pull up and freshly laundered pair of shorts on Maureen.

• Stage 1 pressure sore update - We examined the pressure sore this mooring. In Djon's opinion, it continues to heal nicely. He applied a small amount of A+D Ointment to the sore.

• Breakfast service began @ 8:30AM. Djon administered the thyroid pill prior to breakfast. Maureen was tilting to the left slightly in the geri chair. Her neck/head was tilting hard to the left. We inserted a pair of wedge pillows to adjust her posture.

• Maureen will consume 1/2 a cup of undiluted prune juice this morning.

• GENERAL OBSERVATIONS @ 8:46AM> Arms are relaxed for the most part. They are resting at Maureen's waist. Hands are also relaxed. Fingers are not clenched at all. Maureen is uttering that low groan/moan somewhat sporadically.

• Coughing was less than normal during breakfast—just 1-2 times.

• 8:51AM - Morning medications administered—blood pressure pill and baby aspirin.

• 8:53AM - Djon gave Maureen 1 teaspoon of Manuka Honey.

• 8:59AM - Maureen's head/neck continue to tilt significantly to the left.

• 9:13AM - Maureen just scratched her right forearm with her left hand. It is small scratch that is currently bleeding slightly. Djon is applying pressure so the wound clots and the bleeding stops. He applied a bandaid to the wound. In order to reduce the likelihood of another scratch, Djon filed down all of Maureen's fingernails.

• 10:14AM - Organic fruit smoothie time

• 10:22AM - Maureen has been rather lethargic since breakfast ended. She continues to tilt heavily to the left. We had to insert 2 wedge pillows on her left side to keep her even somewhat upright. Her eyes are half closed.

• 11:05AM - Djon checked the pull up. It was wet. We decided to take Maureen to the bedroom. While cleaning and changing her, Maureen had a medium size formed bowel movement. She also urinated an additional small amount. Djon cleaned Maureen thoroughly. He also applied a small amount of A+D Ointment to the stage 1 pressure sore.

• 12:35PM - Djon checked Maureen's pull up. It was wet. We decided to make a brief visit to the bathroom for a clean and change. Djon cleaned Maureen thoroughly and also applied a small amount of A+D Ointment to the pressure sore at the small of her back. Maureen remained on the commode for 8 minute. No other activity occurred.

• 12:55PM - Lunch - Maureen ate 1/4 of a chicken bowl with lettuce, veggies, guacamole, sour cream and cheese. She also drank one 12 ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Coconut Water.

• 2:05PM - Maureen's pull up was wet. We took her to the bedroom for a clean and change. Djon thoroughly cleaned her and put on a new pull up. Since Maureen has been rather lethargic today, Djon and I decided to leave her in bed for 30-40 minutes—in part also because we wanted to rotate her in different positions to alleviate pressure on the small of her back.

• 2:55PM - Sister Roberta arrived. As Djon and I were getting Maureen out of bed using the sling, Maureen urinated again. The urine seeped through the pull up. Djon thoroughly cleaned Maureen and put on a new pull up and a fresh pair of shorts.

• 3:15PM - Therapeutic massage session with Sr. Roberta.

• 3:25PM - Fruit snack
