August 23 daytime update

• 6:35AM - Maureen is awake. She is stirring lightly in bed.

• 7:00AM - Maureen continues to stir lightly—falls back asleep at times

• Our day kicked off @ 8:05AM. Maureen never went back to sleep. Maureen's diaper was slightly wet. She is alert and engaged—even more chatty than normal.

• Just prior to starting breakfast, Maureen feel asleep for 5 minutes in the geri chair.

• Breakfast service began @ 8:38AM. Djon administered the thyroid pill to Maureen with applesauce before she started eating. Maureen's posture in the geri chair is very good. We put wedge pillows on both sides of her for support.

• Maureen will consume 1/2 a cup of undiluted prune juice this morning.

• Maureen only coughed 1-2 times during breakfast this morning. This is better than the norm which is 2-3 coughs.

• 9:06AM - Djon administered the the blood pressure pill and baby aspirin.

• 9:15AM - Djon applied Cetaphil face cleanser and moisturizing cream to Maureen's face this morning.

• 10:08AM - Djon determined the pull up was wet. We decided to head to the bedroom. He thoroughly cleaned Maureen and put on a new pull up. There were no red marks on Maureen's posterior. We then placed Maureen in the lift recliner in the front room.

• 10:41AM - Organic fruit smoothie time.

• 12:39PM - Djon checked Maureen's pull up just prior to heading lunch. It was definitely wet. We decided to go to the bathroom. After just a few minutes, Maureen began to move her bowels. It was very large and formed. She did not urinate in the toilet bowl. At the 15 minute mark, Djon throughly cleaned Maureen and put on a new pull up.

• 1:10PM - Lunch - Maureen ate 1/2 of a tuna salad sandwich on toaster whole wheat bread, 1/2 a bowl of pea soup with chicken and some sweet potato with grilled pineapple.

• GENERAL OBSERVATION> Maureen has been uttering the low groan/moan and her brown has been furrowed since approximately 12:00PM.

• 2:45PM Vitals: Temperature: 99.1, Oxygen: 98% and Pulse: 68.

• 3:15PM - Fruit snack

• 3:25PM - Temperature check: 97.6. Three measurements. They were all the same.

• GENERAL OBSERVATION #2> The low groan/moan subsided after the fruit snack.

• 3:45PM - Maureen's pull up was very wet/soaked. The urine seeped through to her shorts. Djon throughly cleaned Maureen. We put on a new pull up and a freshly laundered pair of shorts.
