6.30 am- Maureen is awake, laying quietly in bed. Her diaper is dry.

7.15 am-Maureen‘ diaper is still dry. She is moving her hands .

8.00 am-we started our day. Maureen’s diaper is lightly wet. We cleaned her with Cavilon no rinse skin cleanser. Applied Cavilon Durable Barrier Cream and Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film on the pressure spot. The area looks almost healed.

8.30 am- breakfast time. Maureen had her oatmeal with raisins and blueberries, one banana, one cap of prune juice with 1/2 scoop of Miralax. She received the thyroid pill prior to breakfast with apple sauce . After breakfast Maureen got her blood pressure medication. We skipped the baby aspirin today.

Oral care followed. Cleaned Maureen’s eyes with warm water and baby shampoo. Put an eye drop in her eyes. Skin care right after.

10.00 am- Maureen’s pull up is now wet. We took her to the bedroom to clean and change. There was a small, soft bowel movement in the pull up. Cleaned Maureen thoroughly with Aloe Vesta cleaning foam. Tom and i put a new diaper on and a pants.

10.30 am - Tom transferred Maureen to the stair lift and to the wheelchair, ready for the ride to Dr. Yoshino’s office. The ride was easy for Maureen.

11.00am-arrived at the office. Got in pretty quickly. Dr. Yoshino gave Maureen a topical anesthesia first, after a few minutes the injection anesthetic followed. Maureen did great. Did not move or showed any signs of discomfort. The procedure went well. According to Dr. Yoshino Maureen’s root had split in two pieces. That could have been a cause for discomfort, he said. He advised to have a soft food today. We will keep her upper flipper out today.

12.00pm- We returned home. Maureen‘s diaper was wet. We went to the bedroom for a change. Used Cavilon cleanser spray. Put a new diaper on. Tom and i decided to let Maureen stay in bed for an hour. Turned her on her left side with two wedge pillows on her back and a small pillow between her knees.

1.30pm-Maureen’s diaper is wet. We cleaned with the Cavilon Cleanse Spray and put a new diaper on. In order to limit Maureen’s transfers, Tom and I decided to take her to the recliner and have lunch there. Maureen enjoyed a bowl of homemade chicken soup and scrambled eggs with cheese. She also had a bottle of coconut water. I did an oral care after.

We are keeping a gauze in Maureen’s mouth on the extraction site. Change it as soon as it gets bloody.

3.45pm-smoothie time.
