Sunday, August 24 Daytime update

8:00 am- Maureen is asleep, comfortably laying on her left side.
8:25 am- Maureen is waking up. She is calm and relaxed.
O2-95
8:35 am- We placed Maureen on her back. Raised the bed and administered 75 mcg of Levothyroxine with applesauce.
8:45 am- We started the day with changing a medium wet diaper. Maureen had a lot of thick slightly brown vaginal discharge and there was a brownish spot on the diaper. We cleaned her, applied Cavilon barrier film on sacrum and Cavilon cream on inner tights. Then we washed her upper body. Dressed and transferred her to the recliner.
9:05 am - Nebulizer treatment with Saline solution.
9:20 am- Maureen had 5 oz of electrolyte water .
9:30 am- Breakfast- omelette, half a pear, 8 oz of prune juice. Maureen coughed three times and sneezed twice. She was able to get some phlegm out by herself. Maureen also finished the other 5 oz of the electrolyte water.
10:15 am- Administered 10 mg of Loratadin with applesauce.
10:20 am- Morning oral care.
10:25 am- Facial and hand care routine.
10:50 am- Maureen closed her eyes for about 15 minutes.

11:00 am- Maureen had 10 oz cup of lemon water. No coughs.
11:10 - Deacon Andy came in for Sunday service.
11:20 am- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her first rest break. Diaper was medium wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. There was a tiny spot on the diaper only. We positioned Maureen on her right side at 11:35 am.

12:35 pm- Maureen’s first rest break is over. Her diaper was dry. We dressed her and headed to the living room. Placed Maureen on the recliner.
12:55 pm- Lunch-mini meatballs and rice soup, 10 oz of coconut water, chocolate chips cookie for dessert. Maureen had a episode of coughing and sneezing a lot, making a red face. Suction machine was used. We administered one crushed 500 mg tablet of Tylenol with applesauce due to her forehead frowning .
1:40 pm- Oral care.
1:50 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her second rest break. Diaper was heavy wet and Maureen had a small formed bowel movement. We did not use the suppository. There was a thick clear vaginal discharge again. Tom and I cleaned and changed Maureen. Positioned her on the right side. She will lay down for an hour starting at 2:05 pm.
3:05 pm- Maureen’s second rest break ended. Her diaper was dry. We dressed her and transferred to the recliner.
3:20 pm- Sister Roberta arrived for Maureen’s treatment.
3:30 pm- Carolyn visited Maureen.
4:15 pm- Fred fruit snack- watermelon, pear and kiwi. Maureen coughed three times, sneezed twice.
5:00 pm- Dinner- orange roughy fish, mushed potatoes, asparagus, cauliflower mash. Maureen had another episode of many coughs and sneezes.
5:40 pm- Nebulizer treatment with saline solution.
5:50 pm- Administered 12.5 ml of Vimpat and 5 mg of Olanzapine with applesauce.
6:10 pm- Evening oral care.
6:30 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for the night. Diaper was medium wet, there was vaginal discharge again. Tom and I cleaned and changed it. Applied Cavilon cream. Wiped her face and hands, applied Cetaphil lotion on her face, hands, legs and feet. Positioned Maureen on her left side.
