Sunday, August 10 Daytime update

  • 8:00 am- Maureen is sleeping, comfortably laying on her left side. Nasal oxygen is on.

    O2-98, P-53

  • 8:45 am- Maureen is still asleep.

  • 8:55 am- Maureen just opened her eyes. She is calm, no signs of pain or distress.

  • 9:05 am- We raised the bed and administered 75 mcg of Levothyroxine with applesauce.

    Administered 1-4 mg tablet of Metylprednisolone with applesauce.

  • 9:10 am- Tom and I started the day with changing a medium wet diaper. No signs of v. discharge. We cleaned Maureen, applied Cavilon barrier film and Cavilon cream. Dressed and transferred her to the recliner.

  • Nasal oxygen is ON.

  • 9:25 at- Nebulizer treatment with Albuterol.

    O2-96

  • 9:35 am- Administered 10 mg of Loratadin with applesauce.

  • 9:40 am- Maureen had 20 oz of lemon water. Coughed twice (wet), sneezed a few times.

  • 9:45 am- Breakfast- omelette, half of banana, sips of coffee . Maureen coughed once during breakfast.

  • 9:55 am- Administered 1 crushed tablet of Amoxicillin and 20 ml of expectorant Geri- tussin with applesauce during breakfast.

    O2-96

  • 10:30 am- Maureen finished a 10 oz cup of water mixed with an electrolytes hydration powder.

  • 10:45 am- Morning oral care.

  • 11:20 am- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her first rest break. Diaper was dry. We positioned Maureen on her right side at 11:30 am. We used the Saline spray/ mist to clean and moisturize Maureen’s nose. Nasal oxygen is ON.

    O2-96 .

  • 12:30 pm- Maureen was awake during the rest break. She did not cough. Oxygen was 93-96 during her break.

    Diaper was heavy wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Dressed and transferred to the recliner.

  • Nasal oxygen is ON.

    O2-95

  • 12:45 pm- Nebulizer treatment with Albuterol.

  • 12:55 pm- Lunch- chicken noodle soup with veggies, rice pudding for dessert. Maureen had a 10 oz cup of coconut water. Coughed twice ( wet) .

    Administered 1-4 mg tablet of Metylprednisolone with rice pudding.

  • 1:30 pm- Administered 20 ml of expectorant Geri- tussin with applesauce.

  • 1:40 pm- Oral care.

    O2-96

  • 1:50 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her second rest break. Diaper was dry. We positioned Maureen on her right side at 2:00 pm.

  • 2:50 pm- Maureen’s second rest break ended. Her diaper was medium wet with a small soft bowel movement. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Dressed and headed to the living room.

  • 3:15 pm- Maureen is enjoying Sister Roberta’s treatment.

  • 3:45 pm- Fresh fruit snack- watermelon , apple and banana. Maureen coughed twice, wet coughs, but no phlegm.

  • 4:30 pm- Nebulizer treatment with Albuterol.

    O2- 96

  • 5:00 pm- Dinner- sausage, cheese and spinach casserole, 10 oz cup of peach electrolytes/ hydration water. Maureen had three wet coughs, used the suction machine and were able to get some phlegm out.

  • Administered 1-4mg tablet of Metylprednisolone and 1 crushed tablet of Amoxicillin with applesauce during dinner.

  • 5:40 pm- Administered 20 ml of expectorant Geri- tussin with applesauce.

  • 5:55 pm- Administered 12.5 ml of Vimpat and 5 mg of Olanzapine with applesauce.

  • 6:10 pm- Evening oral care.

  • 6:30 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for the night. Her diaper was heavy wet with a very small formed bowel movement. Tom and I cleaned and changed. Applied Cetaphil lotion to her arms, legs and feet. Positioned Maureen on her left side.

  • Maureen had 40 oz of liquids today. She stayed awake throughout the day. Did not have much phlegm. Ate very well.

Sunday 6 - 7 - 26 Daytime summary

9:30 AM - Maureen is still sleeping comfortably 10:00 AM - Maureen is stirring about a little bit, so I went in and gave her a little water via swab, not quite ready to move, but getting ready shortly

9:30AM - Maureen's on her left side, already awake. Tom’s giving her sips of water via swab. No signs of pain or any distress. 9:45AM- We placed Maureen in an upright position and administered 75mcg o
