Summary of Nov. 16, 2021 visit by Dr. Dan Parise - Maureen's podiatrist

Maureen's podiatrist, Dr. Dan Parise, came to the house today. He clipped and filed all of her toenails—with a focus on the two big toes. The following bullet points summarize the visit:

• Dr. Parise observed that there was a substantial amount of Ciclopirox caked on to each of the big toes. He recommended that we files the two big toes downs on the 7th day of each week so that they "look like all of the other toes." Once the filling is complete, then apply a new layer of Ciclopirox.

• Dr. Parise's take is that there is still fungus on the big toes. According to him, "The Ciclopirox is not working." He said, "The fungus looks about as bad as it did last time"

• In addition to the two big toes, he said the 3rd and 5th toes on the left foot also show signs of fungus.

• Dr. Parise sells a product called Tolcylen. He spoke very highly of it. We might want to consider switching to this product. This product is applied twice daily.

• Another prudent first step would be to seek the opinions of our JourneyCare RN Julie Karr and our resident pharmacist Elizabeth Smith.
