The EHOB waffle cushion has become an essential tool in our efforts to help ensure Maureen does not develop any pressure ulcers while she sits in the geri chair or transport chair.
Proper inflation
The waffle cushion is designed to be 60% inflated at most. It should never be 100% inflated. Click/tap on the attached PDF for a detailed description of how to determine if the cushion is properly inflated. We purchased a manual hand pump to inflate the cushion. It is on the dining room table.
Insertion into the blue covering case and placement on the chair
The waffle cushion goes into a blue covering case. It is essential to position the air valve in the back right corner of the case. When placing the waffle cushion on the geri or transport chair, please ensure that the white tag on the case is placed against the seat back. Doing so will guarantee the air valve is in the back right corner.
