May 7 daytime update

  • 6:35AM - Maureen was slightly awake and then fell back asleep 15 minutes later. Her diaper was dry.

  • Maya checked the diaper again at 7:15AM. It was wet. Maureen remains sleeping—snoring at times.

  • 8:40AM - Maureen continues to sleep. She is talking lightly at times.

  • 9:10AM - Maureen is still sleeping comfortably.

  • Day officially began @ 9:55AM. Maureen is well rested and in good spirits. Her diaper was wet. Maya cleaned and changed her.

  • 10:10AM - Breakfast begins. Maureen is sitting upright in the day chair unassisted. Engagement and surgery levels are quite good. She is being very chatty this morning with Maya.

  • Maureen will consume 1/2 a glass of prune juice this morning.

  • Based on material nasal congestion observed, we will administer a dose of Flonase in each nostril.

  • 10:20AM - Maureen has begun to list to the right. This is the second day in a row she has done that.

  • Coughing during breakfast was almost nonexistent.

  • 10:38AM - Blood pressure and baby aspirin administered.

  • 10:45AM - Maya inserted a green wedge pillow into the day chair to straighten Maureen's posture.

  • 11:05AM - Maureen's energy and engagement are beginning to dissipate rapidly. She is frowning. Drools somewhat frequently out of the right corner of her mouth.

  • 11:15AM - Maya checked Maureen's pull up. It was dry.

  • 11:30AM - We took Maureen to relax in the lift recliner until lunch. This was done in large part because of her diminished energy and engagement.

  • 11:35 - Fruit smoothie time

  • 1:05PM - Bathroom - Maureen's pull up was wet. The urine did not seep through to Maureen's pants. She did not urinate or move her bowels. Maya cleaned Maureen and put on a new pull up.

  • 1:15 - Lunch: chicken, fires and coleslaw from Raising Canes.

  • 1:40PM - Maureen began to tilt to the right in the day chair. Maya inserted a green wedge pillow to straighten Maureen's posture.

  • 2:30PM - Maya checked Maureen's pull up right before we planned to move Maureen to the lift recliner. It was dry.

  • 3:45PM - Maya checked Maureen's pull up. It was wet. We took her to the bathroom.The urine did not seep through to her pants. Maureen did not urinate or move her bowels in the toilet. Maya cleaned her and put on a fresh pull up.
