Maureen just recently developed a rash/irritation on the inner portion of her right elbow/forearm. This is the arm she quite often keeps clutched close to her torso. See the attached image.

Julie Karr, Maureen's JourneyCare RN, made her weekly visit to the house yesterday. She examined the irritated area and also re-examined the irritation/fungus under Maureen's left breast. Julie recommend the following process twice a day to help prevent the development of skin irritation/fungus.

Twice-daily cleaning process

1. Use Aloe Vesta Cleansing Foam and a warm wash cloth to clean the following areas first thing in the morning and just prior to bed:

  • Face

  • Hands

  • Under arms

  • Inner elbows/forearms

  • Under breasts

2. Wipe each area dry with a sepaerte clean wash cloth

3. Apply a thin layer of Nystatin Ointment to all irritated areas. Currently, there are two areas that require the application of ointment: under the left breast and the right inner forearm/elbow. Err on the side of applying less not more ointment.

Please feel free to contact Tom, Carolyn or Brian with any questions you may have. Thank you.
