  • 6:30AM - Maureen is awake. Maya will give her sips of water periodically from a mouth swab from now until Maureen gets out of bed.

  • 6:40AM - Maya checked the diaper. It is dry.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:10AM. She is in good form. Maya kicked things off by applying Tolcylen to both big toes. Diaper was medium wet. We completed a clean & change using all three 3M Cavilon products where appropriate. Lastly, Maya cleaned all areas of focus on Maureen's upper body with Aloe Vesta Cleansing Foam and warmed wipes from the purple packet. We did not notice any redness/irritation.

  • Breakfast service began @ 8:50AM. Posture in the geri chair is very good. Maureen is sitting almost perfectly upright. Maya began with a teaspoon of Manuka Honey followed immediately by the administration of the thyroid medication with a smattering of applesauce.

  • Maureen will consume approximately 4 ounces of prune juice this morning.

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage: 1/2 cap

  • General observations @ 9:00AM> Energy and engagement are somewhat better this morning than yesterday—although it seems like Maureen is starting to lose energy as I type. Eyes are almost completely wide open. Chewing is good but a bit deliberate. Coughing has not been an issue so far.

  • 9:25AM - Maya administered the blood pressure medication with a tiny bit of applesauce.

  • General observation @ 9:28AM> Maureen'e energy continues to dissipate.

  • 9:47AM - Morning oral care routine

  • 10:05AM - Morning facial treatment including arms and hands.

  • 10:15AM - Hand, arm, shoulder and leg exercises

  • 10:35AM - Organic fruit smoothie

  • General observation @ 10:50AM> Maureen has been uttering the low moan/groan sporadically all morning. It has become a little more prevalent in the last 45 minutes or so.

  • 10:53AM - We shifted to the bedroom for Rest Break #1. Diaper was light wet. We completed a clean & change and placed Maureen on her right side.

  • 11:08AM - Rest Break #1 begins.

  • 12:18PM - Rest Break #1 concludes. Diaper was medium wet. Maureen had a small formed bowel movement. We headed to the kitchen after completing a clean & change.

  • 12:33PM - Lunch | Maya prepared 1/2 turkey and melted Swiss cheese sandwich on toasted whole wheat bread, 1/2 bowl of homemade meatball and rice soup, a small serving of shredded beets and a small serving of green beans. Maureen will drink one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water.

  • Observations on lunch @ 12:55PM> Maureen's energy is less than normal during lunch. Her eyes are only half open. She is chewing and swallowing deliberately but without any issues. Coughing is not out of the ordinary. Engagement and communication are sporadic. Low moan/groan pops up somewhat frequently.

  • 1:32PM - Afternoon oral care

  • 1:55PM - We decamped to the bedroom for Rest Break #2. Diaper was light wet. Once the clean & change process ended, Maya and I positioned Maureen on her left side.

  • 2:08PM - Rest Break #2 begins.

  • 3:05PM - Rest Break #2 ends. Diaper was medium wet. Maureen had a large formed bowel movement. After completing a clean & change, the three amigos headed to the front room to see another exciting epidote of TPIR.

  • 3:25PM - Afternoon fruit snack

  • Daytime recap> Today was a little bit less than average. Maureen lacked energy throughout most of the day. She was sleepy/lethargic during breakfast and lunch. Engagement and communication was less than normal. On the positive side, she had 2 BMs today - formed small and large.
