  • 6:40AM - Maureen is awake—stirring lightly. Djon checked her diaper. It is dry.

  • 7:20AM - Condition remains the same. Maureen is stirring very lightly. Her eyes remain open.

  • Our day officially began @ 8:00AM. Maureen is in good form—alert, engaged and chatty. Her diaper was slightly wet. Djon throughly cleaned her using the warmed wipes contained in the purple packets.

  • Breakfast service began @ 8:20AM. Maureen's posture in the geri chair is good. She was tilting somewhat to the left. Djon inserted two wedge pillows to adjust her position—one as an armrest on the left side and the other directly behind her right shoulder. Just prior to the start of breakfast, Djon administered the thyroid pill.

  • Arms and hands are only somewhat positioned up high on her torso and clenched this morning. It is better than most of the days since this phenomena first emerged.

  • 8:36AM - Maureen is beginning to tire. This might very well be due to the fact that she has been awake since 6:00AM.

  • 9:10AM - Djon administered the blood pressure pill and baby aspirin with applesauce.

  • Facial redness update> The redness on Maureen's forehead around the inner portion of her eyebrows is almost gone. With regard to underneath her nose, the right side has cleared up nicely whereas there is still a somewhat material amount of redness on the right side.

  • Maureen coughed 4-5 times during breakfast this morning—2 of them were phlegmy coughs. Overall, this is a little more than normal.

  • 9:26AM - Djon used Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion to clean Maureen's face.

  • 9:35AM - Hand, arm and leg exercises

  • 10:08AM - Djon checked the pull up. It was damp. We also smelled a heavy scent of stool. We decided Maureen may have already moved her bowels and that it would be best from a clean up standpoint to head to the bedroom. Maureen had a very small firm bowel movement in her pull up. Djon throughly cleaned her and put on a new pull up. There were no red marks on her posterior.

  • 10:30AM - Is it a bird. No. Is it a plane? No. It is organic fruit smoothie time. The preferred drink of Superman.

  • 12:36PM - Djon determined the pull up was wet. We decided to take Maureen to the bathroom since she had not had a medium or large size bowel movement in two days. As Djon removed the pull up, there was a very small formed bowel movement in it. Maureen sat on the commode for 15 minutes. Toward the end of this time period, she had a small formed bowel movement in the toilet. In total, this is the equivalent of a medium size formed bowel movement. There was no additional urination.

  • 1:05PM - Lunch - Today, Djon prepared 1/2 turkey sandwich on toasted whole wheat, 1/2 bowl of homemade lentil soup and 1/2 of a tomato sliced.

  • GENERAL OBSERVATION> Since lunch ended @ approximately 1:30PM, Maureen's brow has been furrowed, her arms are high on her torso and both fists are clenched pretty tightly.

  • 3:02PM - Djon checked pull up. It was wet. We decided to head to the bedroom since Maureen already had two bowel movements today. While taking off her soiled pull up, she had another small formed bowel movement. Just as we were about to complete the clean/change process, Maureen urinated. Djon thoroughly cleaned Maureen again and put on a new pull up and a freshly laundered pair of shorts. There were no red marks on her posterior.

  • 3:25PM - I felt Maureen's forehead as we were exiting the bedroom. It was warm. Asked Djon to take her temperature. It was 99.2 (based on 5 measurements). Djon will take it again just prior to his departure at 4:00PM.

  • 3:37PM - Fruit snack time.

  • 4:00PM - Djon took Maureen's temperature again. It was 98.4.

  • GENERAL OBSERVATION> Maureen did not hold any in her mouth for an extended period of time. This is the first time in a while that this has occurred.

  • 4:05PM - Currently, Maureen has consumed 30 ounces of water, 1/2 cup of prune juice, one fruit smoothie and one bowl of fruit today.

  • 4:50PM - Brian checked Maureen's temperature. It was 99. This is based on three tries—result was identical all three times.

  • 5:50PM - Sandra checked Maureen's pull up. It was wet. We took Maureen to the bedroom. The pull up was soaked. Sandra throughly cleaned and changed Maureen. She also put some Desitin on her. We then put on a fresh diaper and a pair of freshly laundered shorts.

  • 6:00PM - Dinner - Pasta with sirloin, peas and beans in an enchilada sauce and mixed greens cabbage and peaches.
