Wednesday, October 26, Daytime update

• 6:30 am- Maureen is awake. She is laying on her left side.

• 7:00 am- Maureen is in and out of sleep. When her eyes are open she is chatty and in good spirit.

• 7:30 am- Still in and out of sleep. Maureen had a nice rest with Tom laying next to her.

• 8:30 am- Our day started. Maureen is in a very good spirit. She is talkative and smiley.Tom and I did a full body bed bath, using the warm wipes from the purple package and Aloe Vesta cleansing foam. The diaper was medium wet. We cleaned and changed her. Used the Cavilon barrier film and lotion. After dressing Maureen we headed to the kitchen.

• 9:20 am- Breakfast time. We started with a spoonful of Manuka honey, followed by the stool softener and Thyroid pill with apple sauce. Maureen enjoyed a 8 oz cup of prune juice, a banana and oatmeal. There was an episode of 7-8 coughs , grinding sound , sneezes . Her nose was running too. Tom administered a dose of Flonase in each nostril. After a few minutes Maureen relaxed and we finished breakfast. Lisinopril and Loratadine were administered after with apple sauce.

• 10:30 am -Morning oral care.

• 10:45 am- We reclined Maureen’s chair for her comfort. Facial care.

• 11:00 am— Maureen is sleeping in the chair.She took a 20 minutes nap.

• 11:40 pm- We headed to the bed. Maureen‘s diaper was medium wet. We cleaned and changed. Maureen is laying on her right side for a rest break # 1 starting at 11:55.

• 1:00 pm- Rest break is over. Maureen’s diaper was dry. We dressed her up and prepared for a hair wash. Maureen was very comfortable as always while the process took place.

• 1:15 - Barbara came to visit Maureen. They had a nice time having lunch together . Maureen enjoyed her shrimp, root vegetables, a bowl of homemade mushrooms soup and a bottle of coconut water.She coughed three times during lunch.

• 2:00 pm- Oral care.

• 2:30 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom. Her diaper was heavy wet. We cleaned and changed. Positioned her on her left side for a rest break #2 starting at 2:40pm.

• 3:40 pm-Rest break #2 is over. Maureen’s diaper was dry. We transferred her to the recliner.

• 3:45 pm- Ann , JC nurse, came to visit Maureen. Blood pressure was 118/82. Lungs were clear. Ann noticed that Maureen looks really good. Maureen had a great day today!
