Wednesday August 7, 2024 Daytime update

• 8:00am Maureen’s awake, lying on her left. As per Tom, she woke up calmly 7ish, had few sips of water via swab.

• 8:10am We raised her bed to administer 75mcg Levothyroxine with apple sauce.

• 8:15am Joanna and I started our day giving Maureen a full body bath using damp washcloth and Cetaphil cleanser, no redness observed. Clean/change a dry diaper, applied Cavilon barrier film to sacrum, barrier cream to inner thighs. Some clear, yellowing vaginal discharge observed. Dressed and headed to the kitchen.

• 8:40am Breakfast starts with 1/4 pear, cup of lemon water and coffee. About 20 minutes later, cont. with 6oz prune juice and oatmeal/fruit smoothie. Coughed four times, had a coughing, sneezing, red face episode. Suction pump used once.

• Daily Miralax or Senna dosage: None

• 9:40am Oral care.

• 9:50am Facial routine performed.

• 10:00am We go with Maureen for a walk around the neighborhood. We all enjoyed the nice weather!

• Back home, Maureen had a cup of lemon water. She closed her eyes afterward.

• Carolyn arrives for Maureen’s weekly checkup with the nurse.

• 11:00am Kelsie, RN arrives for Maureen’s weekly visit: Lungs are clear Pulse: 76 BP: 106/64 After talking with the nurse, the family agreed to start treating Maureen with metronidazole since vaginal discharges are back.

• 11:30am Transferred to the bedroom for Maureen’s first resting break. Clean/change a heavy wet diaper, no vaginal discharge observed. Positioned on her right side.

• 12:30pm First break ends. Diaper it’s dry, no vaginal discharge observed. Dressed and headed to the kitchen.

• 12:45pm Lunch: chicken noodles soup, chicken salad, fresh tomato, and a full cup of sparkling water. Coughed three times, suction pump used once.

• Reclined Geri chair one notch during lunch, Maureen was leaning forward.

• 1:25pm Administered 500mg METRONIDAZOLE with yogurt.

• 1:40pm Oral care.

• 1:50pm Saline Neb treatment.

• 2:00pm Maureen sits awake and relaxed while listening to her playlist.

• 2:20pm Transferred to the bedroom for Maureen’s second resting break. Clean/change a heavy wet diaper, then positioned on her left side. No vaginal discharge observed.

• 3:15pm Second break ends. Diaper it’s dry, no vaginal discharge observed. Dressed and continued to wash Maureen’s hair, and then headed to the kitchen where we blow/dry as styled. Transferred to the living area afterward.

• 3:45pm Maureen’s enjoying her fruit snack (melon/pear/kiwi) with 1/4 cup of lemon water.
