Using the lift recliner in the event of a power outage

We had a power outage at the house a few weeks ago. Thankfully, it occurred while Maureen was not in the lift recliner in the front room.

The lift recliner has a battery-back-up system powered by two 9-volt batteries. In the event of a power failure, it is designed to return the chair to the seated position one time. Please note the backup system is not intended for extended use beyond returning the chair to the seated portion.

I placed two new 9-volt batteries in the power adapter yesterday. It is the black box located on the floor. The manufacturer recommends replacing the batteries after one use. Click/tap on the attached PDF to view the owners manual. Go to page 14 for the complete description on how to operate the battery-back-up system.
