Tuesday August 20, 2024 Daytime update

• 8:00am Maureen is calmed now. Tom is by her bedside giving her sips of water via swab. He tells, Maureen woke up around 7:30sh, with a mild twitching, pulse went up to 114, and down to the 90s soon after. The whole episode lasted 20-25 minutes.

• 8:40am Maureen’ awake, we raised the bed to administer 75mcg levothyroxine with apple sauce.

• 8:50am Merianne and I started our day giving Maureen an upper body bath using warmed purple wipes, no redness observed. Clean/change a medium wet diaper, applied Cavilon barrier film to sacrum, barrier cream to inner thighs area. Dressed and headed to the kitchen.

• Reclined Geri chair one notch for comfort.

• 9:10am Breakfast: coffee, mandarin, oatmeal /fruit smoothie with 2 teaspoons of activia and 1teasp of Metamucil, and a cup of lemon water. Maureen coughed twice with breakfast, suction pump used once.

• 9:40am Administered 10mg Loratadine with smoothie.

• Daily Metamucil dosage: 1teasp.

• 9:50am Oral care.

• 10:00am We decided to treat Maureen with saline Neb therapy, she’s been coughing and phlegmy since she was in bed.

• 10:00am Facial routine performed.

• 10:20am We go with Maureen for a walk around the neighborhood. Maureen stayed alert all the way.

• 11:05am Back home Maureen had a cup of lemon water.

• 11:30am Transferred to the bedroom for Maureen’s first resting break. Clean/change a medium wet diaper, positioned on her right side.

• 12:30pm First break ends. Diaper it’s dry, dressed and headed to the kitchen.

• Reclined Geri chair one notch for Maureen’s comfort.

• 12:45pm Lunch: Chicken and veggies soup, tuna salad, fresh tomato and full cup of sparkling water. No coughs.

• 1:40pm Oral care.

• 2:00pm Blood pressure: 10/62, P 72.

• Transferred to the bedroom for Maureen’s second resting break. Clean/change a heavy wet diaper, inserted a suppository , and then positioned on her left side.

• 4:00pm We waited for a BM and Maureen finally had one. Clean/change a heavy wet diaper and Small-hard BM. Dressed and headed to the living room.

• 4:15pm Maureen is enjoying her fruit snack (melon/pear/kiwi) and 3/4 cup of ginger tea.
