Thursday, January 19 Daytime update

• 6:30 am- Maureen is asleep.

• 6:45 am- Maureen opened her eyes. I noticed a little twitching in her arms and hands. Her eyes opened wide. She made that clicking sound with her tongue. The pulse started to go up-115-120. Oxygen was always in the mid 90s. I administered 0.1 ml of Lorazepam. At the time of administering it, pulse picked at 130. Within the next 3 minutes the pulse started to drop. Maureen's hands started to relax. The whole episode lasted about 7-8 minutes. She is calm and relaxed now. O2 is 95, pulse 71.

• 7:45 am- Maureen is awake, she is receptive to some water via swab. O2 is 95, Pulse- 70.

• 8:00 am- Maureen is still awake. Dalia and I decided to change and reposition her before she falls asleep again. The diaper was medium wet and had a very small formed bowel movement in it. We cleaned, applied 3 M products and positioned Maureen on her right side.

• 8:30 am- Maureen is still awake, smiling and chatting.

• 8:45 am- Maureen was awake and alert enough to start the day. Diaper was still dry. Dalia and I washed Maureen's upper body. There was a slight redness under her right breast. We applied a tiny layer of Nystatin. Dressed and headed to the kitchen.

• 8:59 am- administered Levothyroxine with a little apple sauce.

• 9:00 am- Breakfast- We made a little change in Maureen's breakfast routine- she enjoyed a homemade pancake and a banana, 8 oz of prune juice with a cup of Miralax, cup of lemon water. Two coughs.

• 9:30 am- Administered Lisinopril, Loratadin and 20 ml of Guaifenesin.

• Daily Miralax dosage- 1 cup.

• 9:40 am- Morning oral care. We reclined Maureen's chair down one notch for her comfort.

• 9:50 am- Facial routine.

• 10:10 am- Maureen is snoozing in the chair. She took a 10 minutes nap.

• 10:20 am- Nebulizer treatment.

• 10:40 am- Half of smoothie.

• 11: 00 am- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her first rest break. The diaper was medium wet. Dalia and I cleaned and changed Maureen. Positioned her on the left side at 11:15 am.

• 12:15 pm- First rest break ends. Maureen's diaper was medium wet with an extra large formed bowel movement in. Dalia and I cleaned Maureen thoroughly. Changed, dressed and headed to the kitchen.

• 12:30 pm- Lunch- Brussels sprouts soup, shrimp salad, fresh tomatoe, 12 oz bottle of coconut wate, cup of lemon water . Two coughs.

• 1:00 pm- We reclined Maureen's chair.

• Maureen has a great level of energy so far. She is chatty, smiling, moving her arms and legs a lot. Congestion is gone, her nose is not running. She is still energized after lunch, when usually she gets very tired.Finished her second cup of lemon water. It's great to see her well!

• 2:00 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom. Her diaper was medium wet. While placing the new diaper on, Maureen urinated. That was another medium wet diaper. Dalia and I cleaned and changed again. Maureen will lie on her right side for an hour starting at 2:20 pm.

• 3:20 pm- Rest break # 2 is over. Maureen's diaper was dry. We dressed and headed to the front room.

• 3:30 pm- Fruit snack.

• 3:50 pm- Weekly visit with Ann Eberson, RN. Maureen's vitals were normal : T- 98, Heart Rate- 74, BP120/74. Ann recommended using the Nebulizer as needed, the same for the Guaifenesin- as needed. Ann stated that Maureen's lungs sound clear. She heard some noise in her throat, most likely saliva .
