Sunday, May 17 Daytime update

  • 9:30 am- Maureen is sound asleep. She is comfortably lying on her left side. Tom said that she was awake for about half an hour around 5:00 -5:30 am, having a hiccups sound and a little shaky for just a few minutes , went back to sleep soon after.

  • 10:00 am- Maureen is still sleeping.

  • 10:30 am- Maureen is asleep.

  • 11:00 am- We repositioned Maureen on her right side. During the process she opened her eyes. We started changing her medium wet diaper. There was a large brownish VD spot on the diaper. . Cleaned, applied Sureprep barrier film and Cavilon cream. Dressed Maureen and raised the bed. Administered 75 mcg of Levothyroxine with applesauce. She finished 6 oz of thickened lemon water. Coughed once.

  • 11:20 am- Nebulizer treatment with Albuterol.

  • 11:35 am- We transferred Maureen to the recliner.

  • 11:40 am- Breakfast- omelette, 8 oz of thickened prune juice with 1/2 cup of MiraLAX. Maureen coughed three times.

  • 12:20 pm- Administered 20 ml of Geri Tussin and 10 mg of Loratadin with applesauce.

  • 12:25 pm- Oral care.

    Facial and hand care routine followed.

  • 1:20 pm - Maureen finished 10 oz of thickened coconut water. Coughed twice.

  • 2:00 pm- Fresh melon as a fruit snack. Maureen coughed twice.

  • 2:30 pm- Maureen finished 10 oz of thickened sparkling water. No coughs.

  • 2:50 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her rest break. Diaper was dry. Maureen will lie down on her right side for an hour starting at 3:00 pm.

  • 4:00 pm- Maureen’s rest break ended. Her diaper was heavy wet and she had a large bloody VD spot on it. Tom and I cleaned and changed her . Dressed and transferred to the recliner.

  • 4:15 pm- Second Nebulizer threatened with Albuterol.

  • 4:30 pm- Dinner- pot roast with veggies, 10 oz of bottled root beer. Maureen coughed three times.

  • 5:30 pm- Administered 20 ml of Geri Tussin, 12.5 ml of Vimpat and 5 mg of Olanzapine with applesauce.

  • 5:45 pm- Evening oral care.

  • 6:00 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for the night. Her diaper was medium wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Applied Cavilon cream. Cleaned her face and applied Cetaphil lotion on her face, hands, legs and feet. Positioned Maureen on her left side.

  • Maureen consumed 44 oz of thickened liquids today.
