Sunday March 27, 2022 Update

• 8:00am Maureen is still drifting in and out of sleep. She is lying on her left side.

• 8:47am Our day begins. Filed both big toes and applied Tolcylen. We saw no redness anywhere on Maureen’s skin. Diaper is heavily wet - cleaned, applied no sting barrier film, Cavilon barrier cream, and put on a new diaper. We finished dressing and transferred Maureen to the Geri chair using the Hoyer lift.

• 9:11am Spoonful Manuka honey and half thyroid pill with applesauce.

• 9:17am Breakfast - banana, ham and cheese omelet, sausages, 4 oz prune juice, cup of water.

• 9:34am Administered Lisinopril and Claritin with applesauce.

• 9:37am Oral care.

• 9:40am Facial routine including arms and hands.

• 9:53am We headed to the front room. Maureen is sitting comfortably in the recliner watching this week’s episode of Survivor.

• We had another great start to our day this morning. Maureen slept in. She was full of energy all morning, talkative and laughing with us. There were no periods of drowsiness. She coughed 3 times during breakfast.

• Maureen dozed off multiple times while she was in the recliner. Collectively, I would say she slept for about 10 minutes.

• 11:20am Deacon Andy is here to give Maureen Holy Communion.

• 11:35am We headed to the bedroom for rest period #1. Maureen’s diaper is heavily wet - we cleaned up and put on a new diaper. Maureen will lie on her right side for one hour starting at 11:48am.

• 12:50pm Rest period #1 is through. Maureen’s diaper is medium wet and she had a small, formed bowel movement. We cleaned up and put on a fresh diaper.

• 1:08pm Lunch - half turkey sandwich and a bottle of organic coconut water. Maureen had rice pudding for dessert.

• 1:34pm oral care.

• 1:40pm We headed to the front room. Maureen is sitting comfortably in the recliner watching tv.

• Maureen was less energetic this afternoon compared to this morning. She wasn’t talkative but she also wasn’t dozing off. She coughed 4 times during lunch.

• 3:20pm We headed to the bedroom for rest period #2. Maureen’s diaper is medium wet - we cleaned up, applied Cavilon barrier cream, and put on a new diaper. Maureen will lie on her left side for one hour starting at 3:30pm.

• 4:30pm Rest period #2 is through. Maureen’s diaper is medium wet - we cleaned up and put on a new diaper. We headed to the front room after. Maureen is sitting comfortably in the recliner watching tv.

• 4:48pm Fruit snack.

• 5:45pm We headed to the kitchen. For dinner, Tom grilled some Italian sausage that proved to be too spicy for Maureen. Plan B was beef sandwich from Portillo’s with potato salad. She consumed one cup of water.

• 6:56pm Administered 5mg Olanzapine with yogurt and 7.5mL Vimpat.

• 7:04pm Oral care.

• 7:10pm Night time facial routine including arms and hands. Vicks applied to chest.

• 7:20pm Bedtime. Transferred Maureen to bed using the Hoyer lift. Diaper is dry. Tolcylen applied to both big toes. Maureen is lying on her left side with two green wedge pillows placed behind her and the white block pillow placed in between her legs.
