6:35AM - Maureen is sleeping. She murmurs from time to time.
7:00AM - Maureen continues to sleep.
8:05AM - Maureen is still sleeping lightly for the most part. We are going to continue to allow her to rest for at least another 20-30 minutes.
Our day officially began @ 8:17AM. Maureen is in good form. She appears well rested. Her diaper was wet. Djon throughly cleaned her with warmed wipes from the purple packet. He then proceeded to apply a layer of 3M No Sting Barrier Film to the pressure sore and a layer of Mupirocin Ointment to the two "bite" wounds. We then put on a new pull up and a pair of freshly laundered shorts.
Breakfast service began @ 8:38AM. Before getting started, Djon administered the thyroid medication. Maureen's posture in the geri chair is very good. She was tilting a bit to the left. We used a green wedge pillow to adjust her posture.
Pressure sore update> The pressure sore continues to heal nicely. At this point in Djon's perspective, it is almost completely healed. The two "bite" wounds also counted to progress very well. One is for all intents and purposes completely gone and the other is not far behind.
General Observations @ 8:50AM> Maureen's eyes are almost completely wide open. Her arms are positioned towards her upper torso/neck—they are relaxed. Hands are partially clenched.
Maureen will drink 1/2 cup of undiluted prune juice this morning.
9:01AM - Djon just administered the blood pressure pill and baby aspirin.
9:12AM - Oral care process commences. Step 1> Swab gums with salt water, Step 2> Clean gaps in teeth with GUM Proxabrush, Step 3> Swab gums with Colgate Peroxyl Mouth Sore Rinse and Step 4> Brush and rinse teeth.
9:15AM - Maureen's sister Colleen arrived for a visit.
Maureen scathed her right forearm for the second time this week. She drew blood on both occasions.
Val Diaz, NorthShore RN, visited the house. She took Maureen's vitals. Blood pressure was 136/72. Oxygen was 94%. Pulse was 92. Temperature was 99.1. Val listened to Maureen's lungs. She is diminished but clear according to Val. There is no fluid or wheezing. Val is going to order some 3x3 foam bandages as a precaution. Val intends to come back for another visit on 9-15 @ approximately 10:00AM.
11:45AM - Maureen's pul up was wet. We took her to the bedroom for a clean and change. Upon removing her pull up, we discovered she had a very small formed bowel movement. Djon thoroughly cleaned her. He also applied a small amount of Mupirocin Ointment to the two "bite" wounds.
12:20PM - Lunch - we got some carryout from Morettis. Maureen enjoyed brussel sprouts, short rib ravioli and thin crust cheese and sausage pizza.
2:10PM - Upon Colleen's departure, Djon checked Maureen's pull up. It was wet. We decided to go to the bedroom. As we removed the pull up, Maureen had a very small firm bowel movement. Djon thoroughly cleaned Maureen. We out on a fresh pull up and her shorts. It was off to the lift recliner in the front room for little R&R prior to Sr. Roberta's visit.
