6:35AM - Maureen is sleeping.
6:59AM - Maureen is begin to stir a bit. She remains asleep.
7:10AM - Maureen is now awake.
Maureen began her day @ 8:05AM. She is in a great frame of mind. Nasal congestion is somewhat obvious today. The diaper is light wet. Wednesday is bed bath day. Click/tap here for a detailed overview of the process Djon and I use each week.
Breakfast service began @ 8:44AM. Posture in the geri chair is near perfect. We used the two green wedge pillows and the red couch pillow to set Maureen up perfectly. Click/tap here for detailed overview of the entire breakfast service process Djon and I use each day.
Daily MiraLAX dosage: None
8:44AM - Djon administered a dose of Flonase into each nostril.
Today's Puree Report - Djon pureed the oatmeal for breakfast. He smashed up the banana into a fine puree with a fork.
9:15AM - Morning oral care routine
9:20AM - We tilted the geri chair back one notch for Maureen's comfort and to relieve pressure off of her sacrum.
9:25AM - Morning facial routine
General observations @ 9:32AM> We continue down a very good path. Everything about the morning went well. Energy level, engagement, communication, chewing and swallowing were good to very good. Maureen only coughed three times. We did not have to use the suction machine once. She did sneeze four times. At the risk of jinxing ourselves, I have to say that things have returned to normal.
9:40AM - Djon trimmed and buffed Maureen's fingernails.
10:07AM - The three amigos went for a stroll.
10:47AM - We returned from a 1.3 mile stroll.
10:55AM - Djon and I transported Maureen to the bedroom in advance of Rest Break #1. Diaper was medium wet. We cleaned, changed and placed Maureen on her right side.
11:02AM - Rest Break #1 begins
12:04PM - Rest Break #1 ends. Diaper was medium wet. We cleaned, changed and dressed Maureen. Next up—magic time. Djon and I shampooed Maureen's hair.
12:27 - We transported Maureen to the kitchen. Djon applied some styling mousse to Maureen's hair.
12:30PM - Lunch | Djon prepared the following: A serving (4 shrimp) of pureed Chesapeake Bay shrimp salad, 1/3 a bowl of pureed mushroom barley soup, a serving of pureed zucchini and a sweet potato wedge. Maureen will drink one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water.
General observations @ 1:06PM> Lunch went very well. Maureen chewed and swallowed very well. She only coughed twice. Energy and engagement were very good. Eyes were wide open.
1:30PM - Carolyn dropped by for a visit. She brought brisket sandwiches from Mel's BBQ for Djon and me.
2:00PM - Afternoon oral care
2:25PM - We headed to the bedroom to prepare for Rest Break #2. Diaper was heavy wet .Djon and I cleaned, changed and placed Maureen on her left side.
2:35PM - Rest Break #2 begins.
3:17PM - Rest Break #2 concludes. The diaper was heavy wet. Djon and I cleaned, changed and transported Maureen to the front room.
3:32PM - 1/2 a regular size organic fruit smoothie
