September 2 daytime update

• 6:35AM - Maureen is awake. She is stirring lightly. Djon checked the diaper. It is dry.

• 7:15AM - She remains awake—chatting somewhat sporadically.

• Our day officially began @ 8:10AM. Maureen is in very good spirits—she is laughing and smiling. Her diaper was wet. Djon cleaned her thoroughly using warmed wipes from the purple packet. He applied a small amount of A+D Ointment to the pressure sore. See the following bullet point for a complete update.

• Pressure sore update - Djon and I both feel that the pressure sore remains the same - no better or worse. Color is identical. Size is the same.

• Breakfast service began @ 8:30AM. Just prior to getting started, Djon administered the thyroid medication. Maureen's posture in the geri chair is very good. She is tilting a bit to the left. We adjusted for this by inserting a green wedge pillow on her left side.

• Maureen will drink 1/2 cup of undiluted prune juice this evening.

• General Observations @ 8:49AM> Arms are up high on torso. Hands are somewhat clenched. When awake, Maureen is keeping her eyes wide open.

• Maureen coughed 3-4 times and sneezed twice during breakfast. The coughing is a bit above the average.

• 9:20AM - Djon cleaned Maureen's eyelashes with Johnson's Baby Shampoo and warm water. He also put drops in her eyes.

• 10:15 - Dr. Josie DiFranco DDS came to the house to examine Maureen's teeth. Click/tap here for a detailed summation of the visit.

• 11:06AM - Maureen's pull up was wet. We decided to take her to the bedroom. While removing the pull up, we discovered Maureen had a small formed bowel movement in the pull up. Djon thoroughly cleaned her. We proceed to put on a new pull up and a freshly laundered pair of shorts.

• 11:30AM - We moved Maureen to the front room to relax in the lift recliner for an hour prior to lunch. Due to all of the activity this morning, we chose to skip the organic fruit smoothie.

• 12:45PM - Lunch - It's Pasta Thursday. Today, Maureen had ravioli filled with portobello mushroom and marinara sauce and a bowl of Chef Brian's signature salad. Maureen also drank 1 12 ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water. For dessert, she enjoyed a small serving of rice pudding.

• 3:15PM - Fruit snack

• 3:45PM - Maureen's pull up was very wet. We headed to the bedroom. The urine had seeped through to her shorts and the pad. Djon cleaned her thoroughly. The bug bite is completely gone. The only visible remnant is the tiny "bite mark." Djon and I put on a new pull up and were in the process of putting on a fresh pair of shorts when Maureen urinated again. We repeated the whole process. Afterwards, we transferred Maureen to the lift recliner in the front room.
