Saturday Oct. 9, 2021 Daytime summary

7:30am, Marie arrived, we talked for a bit and summarized how the week went.

8:00am, Maureen was stirring a little, we checked her and sure enough, she was wet. Marie prepared the essentials for a nice warm bed bath, and we proceeded with cleaning, applying Cetaphil lotion to her body to keep the skin nice and soft. The CAVILON swab was used on the area where the pressure ulcer was, CAVILON durable cream was applied to the area where urine and feces could break down the skin, and a fresh diaper was put on along with clothes for the day.

9:00am, breakfast time, Maureen had h r thyroid pill with a little applesauce, then Marie made oatmeal, cut up a banana, and poured 1/2 a cup of prune juice with 1/2 packet of MIRALAX and of course a full cup of water. A spoonful of honey followed the other morning meds with applesauce … then oral care.

10:00am, exercise time along with a quick catnap

10:45am, Jackie came by for a visit, caught up with what’s been happening in our lives, Maureen was in the Geri chair with a wedge under one cheek.

11:50am, we brought Maureen to the bedroom, used the Hoyer lift to transfer into bed for a change. She was heavy wet with a small semi soft BM, cleaned well, got redressed and laying on her left side, the wedge pillows were placed at her back to not allow her to lie on her back.

1:15pm, after I woke up, I checked Maureen, still dry, we proceeded to the kitchen where Marie whipped up a tuna salad sandwich on toasted whole wheat bread, potato salad and full cup of water.

2:10pm, oral care and into the bedroom for a change, in preparation for a visit from Sister Roberta Maureen was heavy wet with a medium sized, semi soft BM, cleaned well, got dressed and went to the recliner for the first time today.

2:40pm, Sister Roberta arrived and was doing her magical therapy, Maureen seems very relaxed, started to lean to the left so we put the wedge pillows together and put them on her left side.

4:20pm, Marie cut up a wonderful assortment of fruit and Maureen is enjoying every last bite.
