8:00am Maureen’s In and out of sleep, she is lying on her Lt side .Tom tells me, she just had an episode about 6:00 this morning. It lasted approximately ten minutes and heart rate went up to 132, into the 100+, Tom pressed the heart monitor then administered .1ml Lorazepam - pulse then started to go down.
8:30am Maureen is receptive to zips of water via swab.
9:00am Maureen’s still in and out of sleep, she’s relaxed.
9:10am Marrie and I changed and cleaned a light wet diaper then repositioned Maureen on her Rt side. She’s still sleepy.
9:40am After repositioning, Maureen didn’t go back to sleep, now she seems fully awake and ready to start the day. Marrie and I performed a full bed-body bath using warmed purple wipes and aloe vesta.There was a little redness under her Rt breast, applied nystatin. Diaper was dry; dressed and headed to the kitchen.
10:05am Administered NEW DOSAGE OF LEVOTHYROXINE (88mcg) w/apple sauce. Breakfast: oatmeal, banana, 8oz prune juice w/30ml stool softener, a cup of water. Coughed four times and nose was running during coughs only , used suction pump twice to help remove saliva and phlegm.
Daily dosage of stool softener: 30ml.
10:45am Lisinopril and loratadine with apple sauce administered. Reclined Maureen’s chair one notch.
10:55am Oral care and facial routine.
11::05 Maureen is snoozing in the recliner.
12:00m Maureen shows no signs of congestion nor runny nose today. She’s been snoozing all this time, opened her eyes briefly and went back to snoozing.
12:40pm Lunch: chicken sou, tuna salad, fresh tomato, bottle coconut water. Maureen was tired and sleepy during lunch, couldn’t eat the soup, she was holding it in her mouth. She finished the cup of water from the morning though. Coughed twice, sneezed once. Sprayed Maureen’s nose with saline mist.
1:10pm Oral care.
1:30pm We headed Maureen to the bedroom for her first and only break of the day. Because of the late start, we skipped the first break. Marrie and I changed and cleaned a md wet diaper with 3m products and applied Cavilon barrier and cream. Positioned on her right side, today’s break starts at 1:45pm.
After consulting with Tom, Maureen’s hair wash was postponed.
3:00pm Today’s break ends. Marrie and I changed and cleaned a heavy wet diaper and a SMALL FORMED BOWEL MOVEMENT using 3m products. Dressed and headed to the living room.
3:30pm Maureen is enjoying a bowl of fruits!
Daytime summary
Maureen started her day with very low energy, tired and sleepy. It is understandable considering that she just had one episode two days in a row and in both occasions, she took a dosage of Lorazepam plus an allergy pill. Thankfully, she spent about 90% of the time while on her Geri chair snoozing. Of course, immediately she got in bed, she was fully awake.
