  • 8:00am Maureen is awake. She is full of energy, very talkative and smiling. Our day begins with a complete bed bath. Marie and I noticed the slight redness in Maureen’s right armpit. We did not apply anything to this area and we will continue to monitor. Tolcylen applied to both big toes. Diaper is heavy wet - cleaned, applied no sting barrier film followed by the Cavilon barrier cream to appropriate areas and put on a fresh diaper. We finished dressing. Maureen coughed three times during the process of getting ready for the day.

  • 8:28am Marie is helping Maureen through a set of exercises and stretches in bed.

  • 8:45am We transferred Maureen to the Geri chair using the Hoyer lift and headed to the kitchen.

  • 8:54am Spoonful of honey followed by thyroid pill with applesauce.

  • 8:56am Breakfast - oatmeal, banana, 4 oz prune juice, cup of water.

    • Maureen coughed 3 times during breakfast.

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage: 1/2 cap

  • 9:21am 5mg Lisinopril with applesauce.

  • 9:25am Maureen is slowly losing energy and less talkative at this point. Her eyes are starting to droop. No problems with eating and swallowing. Low moan/groan has started.

  • 9:30am Oral care

  • 9:35am Facial routine

  • 9:47am We headed to the front room. Maureen is sitting comfortably in the recliner. Low moan/groan has stopped.

  • 10:30am Fruit Smoothie

  • Maureen drifted in and out of sleep during this time. Collectively, she slept for approximately 15 minutes.

  • 11:15am We headed to the bedroom for rest period #1. Maureen’s diaper is light wet - we cleaned up and put on a new diaper. Maureen is lying on her right side and will do so for one hour starting at 11:30am.

  • 12:30pm Rest period #1 is through. Maureen’s diaper is light wet. We cleaned, put on a new diaper, and dressed.

  • 12:40pm We washed Maureen’s hair. Marie dried and styled afterwards.

  • 1:02pm Lunch - Half tuna sandwich, garlic green beans, and a bottle of organic coconut water.

    • Maureen coughed 3 times.

  • 1:27pm oral care

  • 1:33pm low moan/groan begins. Maureen had low energy throughout lunch but was able to continue. Her eyes closed from time to time.

  • 2:00pm Maureen’s energy level at this point is still quite low. We headed to the bedroom for rest period #2. Diaper is heavily wet - cleaned, applied Cavilon barrier cream, and put on a new diaper. Maureen will lay on her left side for one hour starting at 2:10pm.

  • 3:10pm Rest period #2 is through. Diaper is medium wet - we cleaned up, applied Cavilon barrier cream, and put on a fresh diaper. We headed to the front room after.

  • 3:33pm Fruit snack.

  • Maureen is much more energetic after rest period #2. She is talkative, smiling, and her eyes are wide open.
