Maureen awoke around 7:10, and in and out of sleep since.

8:40am We raised the bed and administered the thyroid pill with a little applesauce.

8:55am Clean and change from a medium wet diaper, applied the no sting barrier and cavilon lotion where needed. NO BLOOD OR DISCHARGE PRESENT, thankfully.

9:15am The transfer to the kitchen was done, now sitting at the table, hair brushed and teeth put in … let’s get breakfast going!

8oz of prune juice, mixed with a full cap of MIRALAX, a fruit smoothie with oatmeal, a full container of ACTIVIA yogurt was served. Maureen coughed twice during breakfast today.

After a short rest, Maureen was given her LORATADINE with a little applesauce, followed up with a few sips of lemon flavored water.

10:20am Cleanup, oral care were performed, followed by facial care and applying of TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE cream, to the spot on her left hand. We are sitting very well, listening to some soothing Irish music.

10:45am I set the chair back one notch for Maureen’s comfort, and sure enough, she grabbing a nice catnap before she lays down for her 1st rest break.

11:30am After about a 40 minute rest, she opened her eyes in time to go to the bedroom. She was dry, so we just laid her on her right side and propped her up with the wedge pillows.

12:40pm we gave a little extra time because she was still dry, to no avail, she remained dry so we got dressed and transferred to the kitchen for lunch.

Marie prepared some potato and beans soup, tuna salad, with diced up tomatoes and cranberry juice, mixed with water.

Lunch is done, Maureen ate and drank everything that was given, in addition to finishing the lemon water from earlier. A total of three coughs during lunch, one time produced some phlegm that she was able to pass on her own.

1:55pm Time for cleanup and oral care.

Maureen took another short nap, before rest break #2.

2:35pm The transfer to the bedroom is done. As we remove the heavy wet diaper, we immediately notice a small amount of blood mixed in with a small amount of clear discharge, no odor present. We cleaned and changed her, put her on her left side and propped up with the wedge pillows. She will rest for about an hour … no sleeping of course.

3:40pm 2nd break ends, as predicted, no sleep. We cleaned and changed a heavy wet diaper with no discharge or odor, there was a minor trace of blood on the diaper. She was cleaned up and a fresh diaper put on, got dressed and prepared to transfer to the front room.

3:55pm Maureen was settled in her recliner, Family Feud is coming on … what could be better? Marie cut up some fresh fruit, watermelon, pear and kiwi. No coughs during snack time.
