Saturday 10-26-24 Daytime summary

8:00am Maureen has been in and out of sleep since about 7:15, we’ll give her a little more time.

8:40am Maureen is now awake and we are raising the bed to administer the thyroid pill with some applesauce.

8:55am She is still dry, so we just do a quick wash with the purple wipes and get dressed to transfer to the kitchen.

9:15am Maureen’s hair still looks good, combs and styles well, breakfast service begins with the antibiotic with applesauce, followed up with the smoothie, 6oz of prune juice with 1/2 cap of MIRALAX, to be followed with a container of Activia yogurt with her LORATADINE pill.

9:45am Maureen had a bit of a coughing/sneezing attack, so we decided to give her a saline, nebulizer treatment. She is now resting in the Geri chair, leaning back for her comfort.

10:35am after a short snooze, time for oral care, with facial care following. She actually fell asleep again, Carolyn stopped by for a short visit with a button down poncho, for cooler days outside.

11:30am we transferred to the bedroom, she was still dry, believe it or not … I gave a little tummy massage and voila, the floodgates opened, for a heavy wet diaper with a large formed BM. Clean and change was performed, applied the no-sting barrier, barrier cream to the skin folds and laid her on her right side.

Propped up with the wedge pillows, Maureen will remain here for the first rest break.

12:35pm rest break #1 has ended, Maureen is dry, as expected, we got her dressed and transferred to the kitchen for some lunch.

Marie prepared some chicken salad and beets with a full cup of coconut water. Maureen coughed twice during lunch.

2:00pm cleanup and oral care were done, along with a pea sized amount of TRIAMCINOLONE, applied to the spot on her left hand.

2:20pm we are venturing out for a walk, Maureen has her hat and one of her shawls on because it is a little breezy out, but the sun feels absolutely wonderful. It is now about 3:05, and we are walking in the back door.

3:15pm after a couple sips of water, we transferred to the bedroom for break #2 ,

she was still dry, so we laid her on her left side and propped her up with the wedge pillows …

4:05pm break #2 concludes with her remaining dry, we got dressed and transferred to the front room for some fresh fruits, lemon water and some FAMILY FEUD!
