7:55AM - Maureen has been awake for the most part since 6:35AM till now. She has a nice chat with herself from time to time.
Maureen's day officially began @ 8:10AM. Her diaper was medium wet. Colleen and Maya performed the standard clean and change using 3M Cavilon No-Rinse Cleanse Spray and Barrier Cream. As a last step, Maya applied a layer of 3M No-Sting Barrier Film to the pressure ulcer area.
Pressure Ulcer Area Update> The area looks slightly better. It continues to heal nicely. See the attached image gallery.
Daily MiraLAX dosage: None
Breakfast service began @ 8:32AM. Maya started by giving Maureen the thyroid medication. Maureen will consume approximately 4 ounces of prune juice this morning. Posture in the geri chair is very good. Colleen and Maya inserted the two wedge pillows for some additional arm support.
8:55AM - Maya administered the blood pressure medication.
Coughing was not too prevalent during breakfast—just 2 to 3 times.
9:00AM - Morning oral care routine begins
9:23AM - Maya and Colleen cleaned Maureen's eyelashes with Johnson's Baby Shampoo and warm water. They finished up by putting drops in Maureen's eyes.
10:20AM - Organic fruit smoothie time
10:50AM - Colleen and Maya took Maureen to the bedroom for the first of her two scheduled one hour rests. Maureen's diaper was medium wet. After completing the clean and change process, they placed Maureen on her left side.
11:10AM - Maureen will rest on her left side for the next hour.
12:10PM - Maya and Colleen initiated the process of getting Maureen out of bed after her one hour rest. The diaper was medium wet. They cleaned and changed Maureen.
12:40PM - Lunch | Maya prepared 1/2 a tuna salad sandwich on toasted whole wheat, 1/2 a bowl of homemade green pea soup and 1/4 a sliced tomato. Maureen will also consume 12 ounces of nectar of the Thai gods - Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water.
1:50PM - Maya and Colleen began the process of getting Maureen ready for her second one hour rest break to relieve the stress on her sacrum. They took her to the bedroom. Maureen had a small soft bowel movement. The diaper was also medium wet.
2:10PM - Maureen is now set on her right side where she will rest for the second of two one-hour breaks.
3:10PM - Maya and Brian began the process of getting Maureen out of bed for the rest of the day. Maureen's diaper was medium wet. Maya performed a standard clean and change. Upon completion, we headed to the front room to watch the latest installment of TPIR.
3:35PM - Fruit snack. Is there anything better?
