Happy 92nd Birthday Bart!

Today marks what would have been Maureen's Dad's 92nd birthday. Bart was the oldest of three children born to Bartholomew and Nellie Murphy who emigrated from Ireland to America in the early 1900s. Maureen and all of her siblings developed their great sense of pride in their Irish heritage from their dad. It is why we have an Irish playlist on the iPad. One of Bart's favorite songs was "The Wild Colonial Boy." Happy 92nd Birthday Bart. May your spirit continue to watch over us and guide us in the weeks, months, and years ahead.

  • 8:26AM - Maureen remains sound asleep.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:38AM. She is somewhat chatty and engaged. Nasal congestion is almost nonexistent—no Flonase.. Click/tap here to view a detailed overview of the process Maya and I use to get Maureen ready for the day.

  • Breakfast service began @ 9:14AM. Posture in the geri chair is very good. We used the two green wedge pillows and the red couch pillow to set Maureen up perfectly. Click/tap here for detailed overview of the entire breakfast service process Maya and I use each day.

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage - 1/2 cap of MiraLAX

  • Maureen will consume 8 ounces of prune juice today.

  • 9:35AM - Morning oral care routine

  • 9:50AM - Morning facial routine

  • 10:45AM - Organic fruit smoothie

  • 11:05AM - We headed to the bedroom in advance of Rest Break #1. Diaper was medium wet. Maureen had a small formed bowel movement. Maya and I cleaned and changed Maureen. We then placed Maureen on her right side.

  • 11:22AM - Rest Break #1 begins.

  • General observations @ 11:40AM> This morning was a mixed bag. Maureen started out with a good amount off of energy and engagement. Both began to dissipate at the morning progressed. Maureen had a very difficult time with the smoothie—coughed 7 times and two of them were red faced. She became increasingly fatigued as the day progressed. We will hope she has a better afternoon.

  • 12:27PM - Rest Break #1 concludes. Diaper is dry. Ww dressed Maureen and then headed to the kitchen for lunch.

  • 12:40PM - Lunch | Maya prepared a serving of Chesapeake Bay Shrimp Salad, 1/2 a bowl of organic meatball soup and a serving of butternut squash, cranberries and sage. Maureen will drink one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water with lunch.

  • 1:33PM - Afternoon oral care routine

  • General observations @ 1:45PM> Lunch was a mixed bag. The early part went well. Maureen coughed a lot in the latter half of the service—7 in total. She was more engaged and conversant than breakfast.

  • 1:51PM - Maya and I transported Maureen to the bedroom for Rest Break #2. Diaper was dry. We placed Maureen on her left side.

  • 2:00PM - Rest Break #2 begins.

  • 3:00PM - rest break number two ends. The diaper was medium wet and Maureen had a medium formed bowel movement. After completing a clean and change, Maya and I transported Maureen to the front room for the remainder of the afternoon
