May 28 daytime update

• 8:00am Maureen is awake, talking, and moving about in bed. Maya states Maureen has been awake since she arrived at 6:30am.

• 8:16am Our day begins. Maureen’s diaper is dry and no redness was seen. Cleaned Maureen and put on new pants, shirt, and a sweater. Maureen’s lower extremities were cold to touch this morning. Transferred Maureen to day chair using the Hoyer lift. Immediately, Maureen was leaning towards her right side and needed the green wedge pillow to keep her posture. Safety belt and footrests in place.

• 8:38am Breakfast time. Thyroid medication administered prior. Maureen ate 100% of her oatmeal and banana. Maureen will have 1/2 cup of prune juice.

• 9:01am Morning medications administered — blood pressure and baby aspirin. We will skip Flonase today.

• Maureen has been talkative all morning but began leaning backwards. We have two wedge pillows on her right side and behind her head to keep her upright.

• 9:54am After Maureen’s daily spa treatment and her morning exercises, she began to doze off in the day chair so we decided to bring her to the recliner. Maureen is now sound asleep.

• 10:28am Smoothie time courtesy of Maya. Shortly after, Maureen fell asleep again In the recliner. Maureen’s diaper continues to be dry at this time.

• 12:04pm Maureen’s diaper is now wet. Transferred Maureen from day chair to bed using the Hoyer lift. Cleaned thoroughly and saw no redness on Maureen’s bottom. Transferred back to day chair from bed using the Hoyer lift.

• 12:26pm Lunch time from Raising Canes. Maureen ate well and sat upright throughout her meal without assistance of the green wedge pillow. Maureen will consume a bottle of coconut water. Oral care after lunch.

• 1:37pm Maureen has started leaning to her left side and visibly losing energy. She is less talkative and her brow is furrowed. We took Maureen to her recliner where she is now lying comfortably. Diaper is still dry at this point.

• 2:21pm Maureen napped for about 10 minutes in the recliner. Diaper remains dry.

• 3:17pm Maureen is having her daily bowl of fruit.

• 3:50pm Maureen’s diaper is wet, so we took her back to bed using the Hoyer lift. Maureen had a small, firm bowel movement. No redness seen, cleaned thoroughly and put on a new diaper. Maureen returned to the day chair using the Hoyer lift with safety belt and footrests in place and then to the recliner afterwards.
