May 27 daytime update

• 8:00am Maureen is still sound asleep, lying on her right side.

• 9:06am Our day has started. Maureen woke up in good spirits, smiling and saying hello. Diaper is dry, no redness seen. Maya and I cleaned her thoroughly and put on a new pull-up, pants, socks, and her favorite yellow shirt. Transferred Maureen from bed to day chair using the Hoyer lift, with belt and footrests in place.

• 9:32am Breakfast time. Thyroid medication administered prior. Maureen ate 100% of her oatmeal and banana. Maureen will have 1/2cup prune juice.

• 9:43am Morning medications administered — blood pressure and baby aspirin.

• We will skip Flonase today.

• 10:21am Maureen has been talkative and engaging all morning. Maureen is now lying in the recliner watching tv.

• 11:12am Smoothie time courtesy of Maya.

• 11:45am While in the recliner, Maureen wasn’t talkative and drooling during sips of water.

• 1:05pm Maureen’s pull-up is wet. Transferred Maureen to bed using the Hoyer lift. Cleaned Maureen thoroughly and put on a fresh pull-up. Noticed redness on Maureen’s bottom in the shape of the sling from earlier, and so Maya and I decided to remove the sling from behind her while she is sitting in the day chair. Desitin applied. Transferred Maureen to day chair from bed using the Hoyer lift. Safety belt and footrests in place.

• 1:17pm Lunch time. Maureen ate all of her tuna sandwich with tomato and chicken and pea soup and one bottle of coconut water. Maureen sat upright throughout her meal and was talkative and involved.

• 1:42pm Maureen returned to her recliner to relax after lunch in anticipation of her upcoming hair appointment.

• 3:00pm Maureen had a fantastic time with her hair appointment with Maya and Kathleen.

• 3:30 Transferred Maureen to bed using the Hoyer lift. Pull-up is wet, cleaned, applied Desitin, and put on a fresh diaper. Back to day chair using the Hoyer lift.

• 3:44pm Maureen is back in the recliner and enjoying her bowl of fruit.
