May 18, 2021 That’s New: Redness in sacral area

During bedtime tonight, noticed that the redness in Maureen’s sacral area has progressed. The area is still somewhat blanchable with venous return at less than one second. When the redness becomes unblanchable, i.e the skin no longer turns white when pressure is applied, the redness is now a stage 1 pressure ulcer. Continuous application of Desitin and relieving pressure from the sacral region should help alleviate this. Will continue to monitor.
