  • 6:30AM - Maureen is going in and out of sleep.

  • 6:40AM - Maya checked the diaper. It is now wet.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:02AM. She is in very good spirits—alert and engaged. Maya started the morning routine by applying Tolcyeln to both big toenails. Diaper was light wet. We performed a clean & change using all three 3M Cavilon products where appropriate. Maya then proceeded to clean all areas of focus on Maureen's upper body with Aloe Vesta Cleansing Foam and warm wipes from the purple packet. We did not note any areas that are red/irritated.

  • Breakfast service commenced @ 8:38AM. Posture in geri chair is very good. Maureen is sitting perfectly upright. Maya began by giving Maureen a teaspoon of Manuka Honey followed immediately by the administration of the thyroid medication with a tiny amount of applesauce.

  • Maureen will consume 6 ounces of prune juice this morning. The extra 2 ounces are due to the fact that Maureen has had only 1 BM in the last 1.75 days.

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage: 1/2 cap

  • 9:06AM - Maya administered the Claritin and blood pressure medication with a small amount of applesauce.

  • General observations @ 9:07AM> Breakfast went well. There were only a few coughs. Maureen's energy and engagement are good. Her eyes are wide open. She is communicating with Maya somewhat frequently and responds to questions occasionally. Congestion is not an issue today. Maureen's nose is running a bit.

  • 9:15AM - Morning oral care routine

  • 9:20AM - Maureen has begun to lose energy. Her eyes are now partially closed. She nods off for brief periods from time to time.

  • 9:26AM - We tilted the geri chair back one level for Maureen's comfort and to relieve stress off of her lower back.

  • 9:28AM - Eyelash cleaning and eye drops in both eyes.

  • 9:40AM - Morning facial treatment including hands and arms.

  • 10:10AM - Hand, arm, shoulder and leg exercises

  • 10:30AM - Organic fruit smoothie

  • 10:52AM - We began the process of heading to the bedroom for Rest Break #1. Diaper was light wet. We performed a clean & change and placed Maureen on her right side.

  • 11:06AM - Rest Break #1 begins.

  • 12:12PM - Rest Break #1 concludes. Diaper is light wet. Maya and I performed a clean & change and then proceeded to the kitchen for lunch.

  • 12:26PM - Lunch | Maya prepared 1/2 an egg salad sandwich on toasted whole wheat, 1/2 a bowl of split pea and chicken soup and a serving of broccoli. Maureen drank one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut water. For dessert, Maureen enjoy a small piece of banana bread made by Chef Michael Osel.

  • General observations @ 12:32PM> We once again saw a large majority of Maureen's energy dissipate once she was seated in the geri chair at the start of lunch. Her eyes are partially closed. Chewing is somewhat deliberate. As of the writing of this update, coughing has not been an issue. This partner is typical of what we have observed for the last few months at a minimum.

  • 1:02PM - We tilted the geri chair back one notch for Maureen's comfort.

  • 1:20PM - Afternoon oral care

  • 1:34PM - Maureen is beginning to regain some of her energy. Her eyes are more open. She is more engaged with Maya and me.

  • General observation @ 1:39PM> Maureen is holding water in her mouth more than normal today. She has done so approximately 4-5 times as of the writing of this update.

  • 1:53PM - We began our routine prior to Rest Break #2 and headed to the bedroom. Diaper was light wet. As we were wrapping up the clean & change process, Maureen had a very large formed bowel movement. She also urinated on the pad—making total urination equal to a medium wet diaper. Maya and I changed the pad and then performed an additional clean & change process. Afterwards, we placed Maureen on her left side.

  • 2:14PM - Rest Break #2 begins.

  • 3:05PM - Rest Break #2 concludes. Diaper was light wet. We performed a clean & change and then transported Maureen to the front room.

  • 3:23PM - Afternoon fruit snack

  • Daytime recap: Overall rating: slightly above average. Today was a mixed bag. Maureen had an extra large formed bowel movement. Energy levels were good at times, but she had a few dips. She ate well for the most part. Coughing was well below average with no red face coughs; however, Maureen had approximately 6-7 episodes today where she held water in her mouth. She even briefly held coconut water on one occasion. Consequently, Maureen did not drink her normal amount of water today. As such , all of her diapers were light wet.
