One day till St. Patrick's Day!
  • 6:30AM - Maureen was partially awake.

  • 7:15AM - Maureen is now fully awake. We gave her some small sips of water using a mouth swab.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:15AM. She is very alert, engaged and chatty this morning. Wednesday is bed bath day. Maya began by cleaning Maureen's feet with Aloe Vesta Cleansing Foam and warm wipes from the purple packet. Upon completion, she wipes Maureen with one of the colored soft cloths. Maya then applied Tolcylen to both big toenails. Next, we performed a clean & change using all three 3M Cavilon products where appropriate. Maya and I did note a line of slight redness above the waistline at the navel. She applied a very thin layer of Nystatin Ointment to this area. We then proceeded to clean all other parts of Maureen's body with the same process. There were no other areas that required additional attention.

  • Breakfast service got rolling @ 9:06AM. Posture in the geri chair is very good. Maureen is tilting a bit to the left. Maya began with a teaspoon of Manuka Honey followed immediately by the administration of the thyroid medication.

  • Maureen will consume approximately four ounces of prune juice this morning.

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage: None

  • General observations @ 9:26AM> This morning has been close to perfect so far. Maureen has great energy. Eyes are wide open. She is very engaged and chatty. Chewing and swallowing are very good. We have not had a single cough and are more than halfway through breakfast.

  • 9:45AM - Maya administered the blood pressure medication with a smattering of applesauce.

  • 9:55AM - Morning oral care routine

  • 10:00AM - Low moan/groan starts for the first time.

  • 10:15AM - Maya and I tilted the geri chair back one notch for Maureen's comfort and to reduce the pressure on her back.

  • 10:18AM - Morning facial routine including hands and arms

  • 10:40AM - Organic fruit smoothie

  • 11:00AM - We headed to the bedroom to prepare for Rest Break #1. Diaper was medium wet. After completing a clean & change, Maya and I set Maureen up on her right side.

  • 11:13AM - Rest Break #1 begins.

  • 12:30PM - Rest Break #1 ends. Diaper was medium wet. Maya and I performed a clean & change. We then prepared Maureen for a hair shampoo. Afterwards, we headed to the kitchen where Maya styled/dried Maureen's hair to perfection.

  • 1:08PM - Lunch | 1/2 a tuna salad sandwich on toasted sourdough bread, 1/2 a bowl of lentil soup and a serving of brussels sprouts. For dessert, Maureen enjoyed 1/2 of a chocolate chip cookie. She consumed one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water during the lunch service.

  • 2:06PM - Afternoon oral care routine

  • General observations @ 2:09PM> Maureen continues to have a very good day. Her energy during lunch was very good. She kept her eyes wide open. Maureen engaged and communicated frequently with Maya and me. Chewing and swallowing went well.

  • 2:55PM - We headed to the bedroom to prepare for Julie Karr's visit. Diaper was medium wet. Maya and I cleaned and changed Maureen. The three of us headed to the front room for the remainder of the afternoon including TPIR and a bowl of fruit artfully crafted by Maya.
