MAP Care Best Practice - Putting the sling on Maureen while in bed

It is critical that we always place the sling properly on Maureen for her safety and comfort.

One of the most challenging situations is when we need to put the sling on Maureen while she is lying in bed.

Click here to view a video that provides a best-in-class example of how to place a general purpose sling on a patient while he/she is lying in bed. Pay close attention to the following:

1. The way the nurse positions the patient's right leg as she initiatives the sling application process. She bends the right knee and then positions it on top of the left knee as the patient rolls on his left side

2. How the nurse folds 10-15% of the sling over at the center and then proceeds to tuck this fold under the patient. This technique begins at the 55 second point in the video.
