June 8 daytime update

• 6:35AM - Maureen is awake. She is chatting with herself occasionally. Her diaper is dry.

• Our day officially began at 8:10AM. Maureen is in good form. Her diaper remained dry. Maya removed it, thoroughly cleaned Maureen with warmed wipes in the purple packet and put on a fresh pull up and pair of shorts. During the cleaning process, we did not notice any red spots on Maureen's posterior.

• Breakfast service began at 8:35AM. Maureen is sitting upright nicely without assistance in the day chair. She is active and engaged—chatting with Maya as she eats.

• We will give Maureen 1/2 a glass of prune juice this morning as usual.

• No Flonase is required as Maureen has very little nasal congestion.

• 8:52AM - Morning medications administered—blood pressure and baby aspirin

• Maureen did not cough once during the breakfast service.

• Maureen had a productive session of arm exercises using the drink cup.

• 9:31AM - Maureen is beginning to lose energy. Her brow is furrowed. She is frowning. Engagement and conversation have decreased significantly.

• 9:48 - You guessed it—fruit smoothie time. Homemade. All organic. Delivered with care. Who could ask for anything more?

• 9:52AM - It has been one hour since we administered the morning medications. Maureen's posture in the day chair continues to be near perfect. She is sitting almost completely upright without any assistance.

• 10:07AM - We took Maureen to the lift recliner for some rest and relaxation—and also to watch LMD and TPIR!

• 10:54AM - Maureen was getting very fidgety in the lift recliner. We took Maureen to the bathroom. Her pull up was wet. The urine had seeped through to the shorts. While on the commode, Maureen had a large size bowel movement—one part firm the other part somewhat loose. Maya thoroughly cleaned Maureen, out on a new pull up and pair of pants.

• 11:35AM - Lunch. Maureen had leftover ground beef & peppers from last evening and homemade mushroom soup courtesy of Chefs Carolyn and Maya respectively.

• 12:30PM - Departed for the dentist's office. Maureen had impressions taken for a new tooth.

• 2:10PM - Maya checked Maureen's pull up once we returned to the house after the dental appointment. The pull up was wet. Since Maureen was in the day chair, we decided to clean and change her in bed. There were no red marks. The urine once again seeped through to her pants. Maya put on a fresh pull up and a clean pair of pants.

• From 12:00PM till 2:15PM, Maureen was slumping forward very badly while in the day chair. This included the trip to see Dr. Yoshino. I do not thing I have ever seen someone slump this badly.
