June 21 daytime update

  • 6:30AM - Maureen is sleeping

  • 6:50AM - No change. Still sleeping.

  • 7:10AM - Maureen is beginning to stir somewhat frequently. Her eyes remain closed.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:05AM. She is wide awake and chipper. Congestion is minimal. The diaper is light wet. Click/tap here to view a detailed overview of the process Djon and I use to get Maureen ready for the day.

  • Breakfast service began @ 8:33AM. Posture in the geri chair is very good. Maureen is listing a bit to the left and forward. We used the two green wedge pillows to straighten her posture. Click/tap here for detailed overview of the entire breakfast service process Djon and I use each day.

  • Since Maureen has been somewhat inactive during the last five days, Carolyn directed that we give Maureen a total of 6 ounces of prune juice and 1/2 cap of MiraLAX this morning.

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage: 1/2 cap

  • 9:14AM - Morning dental care routine

  • General observations @ 9:15AM> Breakfast went well this morning. Maureen has very good energy. Her eyes were wide open. She was communicative and responsive. Chewing and swallowing were excellent—only one cough. The day has gotten off to a great start.

  • 9:21AM - Djon gave Maureen a dose of Flonase in each nostril.

  • 9:23AM - We tilted Maureen back one notch in the geri chair for her general comfort and to relieve stress off of her back.

  • 10:22AM - Organic fruit smoothie

  • 10:55AM - We took Maureen to the bedroom in advance of Rest Break #1. Diaper was medium wet. She had a very small soft bowel movement. After completing a clean & change, Djon and I place Maureen on her right side.

  • 11:07AM - Rest Break #1 begins.

  • 12:23PM - Rest Break #1 ends. Diaper was heavy wet. Djon and I cleaned & changed Maureen. We then proceeded to the kitchen for lunch.

  • 12:36PM - Lunch | Djon prepared a serving of Chesapeake Bay shrimp salad, 1/2 a bowl of chicken and pea soup and a serving of squash. Maureen will also drink one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Coconut water. For dessert, on this steamy day, Maureen will enjoy a small serving of rice pudding.

  • 1:03PM - Dr. Parise, Maureen's podiatrist, arrived to clip her toenails. He was very pleased with the condition of Maureen's toenails. He did not express any concerns.

  • 1:44PM - Afternoon oral care.

  • General observations @ 1:47PM> Lunch went well. Maureen had an abundance of energy. Her eyes were wide open. She was sitting up almost perfectly straight. Communication and responsiveness were good. Chewing and swallowing were fine for the most part. Maureen coughed five times. All in all, it was a good lunch session.

  • 2:15PM - We headed to the bedroom for Rest Break #2. Diaper was medium wet. Maureen had another very small soft bowel movement. After completing a clean & change, Djon and I placed Maureen on her left side.

  • 2:27PM - Rest Break #2 begins.

  • 3:07PM - Rest Break #2 concludes. Diaper is medium wet. Djon and I completed a clean & change. The three musketeers then headed off the to the front room for a medley of fruit and American television gameshows.
