  • 6:40AM - Maureen is sleeping soundly.

  • 7:30AM - Maureen continues to sleep soundly.

  • Our day officially began @ 7:59AM. Maureen is generally in good form. She is a little less engaged than normal—seems more distant. Maureen's head is tilted hard to left in bed. She has trouble laying flat on her own. Her diaper was wet. Maya thoroughly cleaned her with warmed wipes from the purple packet and put on a fresh pull up and clean pair of shorts. No red marks noted on posterior.

  • 8:20AM - Thyroid pill administered.

  • Breakfast service begins @ 8:21AM. Maureen's posture in the chair is very good. She is sitting straight with just a bit of slump forward. No green wedge pillow is necessary at this point.

  • Maureen will consume 1/2 glass of prune juice this morning.

  • 8:30AM - Blood pressure and baby aspirin administered

  • There was absolutely no coughing during breakfast.

  • 8:31AM - Forward slump begins to increase just a bit.

  • RED RIGHT EYE UPDATE> Redness in lower portion of right eye socket continues to decrease—it is almost back to normal. There was no sleep/gunk in any of Maureen's eyelashes. Maya cleaned the eyelashes in both eyes with warm water and a bit of Johnson's Baby Shampoo. She also put over the counter drops into both of Maureen's eyes.

  • 8:51AM - Maureen continues to sit erect in the chair without assistance. Forward slump is a bit worse.

  • 9:20AM - Posture continues to degrade. Maureen is now slumping forward more and tilting to the left. Her head is down 10-15 degrees now. Maya inserted a green wedge pillow in the day chair to straighten her position.

  • 9:30AM - Organic fruit smoothie time

  • 9:45AM - Maya checked the pull up. It was dry.

  • 9:50AM - Maya was able to do the morning hand. arm and leg exercises with Maureen in the day chair. Maureen did reasonably well.

  • 10:15AM - Maureen's PT Ann came to the house for a session. Click here to view a summary of the visit. Ann's last session with Maureen will be on July 20 @ 10:00AM.

  • 12:01PM - Maya checked the pull up in advance of going to lunch. It was wet. We took Maureen to the bathroom. After about 7 minutes, Maureen urinated a good amount into the toilet. She did not move her bowels. Maya thoroughly cleaned her and put on a fresh pull up. No posterior red marks were visible. We keep Maureen on the commode for a total oof 15 minutes.

  • 12:30PM - Lunch—Maya serve a bowl of homemade lentil soup, 1/2 a turkey sandwich w/ melted cheese on whole wheat and 1/2 a sliced tomato.

  • 1:25PM - Maureen was getting rather fidgety in the day chair. Her head was slumping forward badly. We decided to take her to the lift recliner. Maya checked pull up prior to departure. It was dry.

  • 1:45PM - Maya gave Maureen a foot massage using the Aveda Foot Relief.

  • 3:30PM - Maya and Tom took Maureen to the bathroom because she said she had to go. She was a little wet and had a small bowel movement in her pull-up. We sat her on the commode and after 5 minutes, she urinated in the toilet. We waited another 5 minutes to see if she would poop any more … nope, after cleaning well, we sat back in recliner
