Friday September 3, 2021 Dayshift Update

• 7:30am Maureen is awake, lightly stirring. Her diaper is wet; cleaned and changed to a new diaper. Applied A&D ointment on bug bite and pressure sore. Turned and repositioned to her right side.

• Pressure sore looks the same as it did yesterday. Discolored, but skin intact.

• 8:20am We begin our day. Diaper is wet, cleaned and put on a new pull-up. A&D ointment applied to bug bite and pressure sore. Transferred to Geri chair using the Hoyer lift.

• 8:40am Administered thyroid medication prior to breakfast.

• 8:45am Breakfast time. Maureen enjoyed a ham and cheese omelet with a banana and half a cup of prune juice. Posture is great with use of green wedge pillows.

• 9:20am Maureen napped in the Geri chair for 20 minutes.

• 9:50am Administered Lisinopril and baby Aspirin.

• 9:52am Oral care. Maureen’s gums bled a small amount. Overall, redness on the gums have lessened.

• 10:20am Telemed appointment with Dr. Purinson.

• 11:48am Maureen’s pull-up is medium wet and we headed to the bedroom for a change. No bowel movement. Cleaned and put on a fresh pull-up and applied A&D ointment on the pressure sore and two open areas. We headed to the front room after.

• 12:20am Smoothie time.

• 1:50pm Lunch time. Maureen ate half of a ham sandwich, Brussels sprouts, and chicken noodle soup. She drank a full bottle of coconut water and enjoyed some rice pudding for desert.

• Maureen fell in and out of sleep a total of 10 minutes in the Geri chair.

• 2:45pm Oral care. There was no bleeding this time around.

• 3:30pm Maureen’s pull-up is now wet so we headed to the bedroom for a change. She had a small, formed bowel movement. Cleaned thoroughly. There was redness on her bottom so Desitin was applied on her rectum. A&D ointment applied to the pressure sore and the new antibiotic ointment applied to the two open areas. Put on a fresh pull-up and headed to the recliner in the front room.
